Staying in one of our yurts is the perfect way to enjoy the stunning scenery, allowing you to get back to nature without forgoing the usual luxuries you would wish for on your holiday. The yurts have private bathrooms, as well as an acre of private meadow with hammocks and comfortable shaded seating areas.
This is the perfect place to unwind and relax, and soak up the sights and sounds of nature right on your doorstep. Fall asleep lulled by the sound of goats' bells and crickets. Lounge in a hammock in the shade of a giant cork oak tree. Cool off with a dip in our refreshing chlorine-free swimming pool, surrounded by blue mountains and the beauty of nature.

Our yurts are individually decorated and extremely spacious and comfortable.
Choose between five very different styles of yurt. The Mongolian yurt is in a quiet secluded clearing and is handpainted in burnt orange with traditional motifs in green, blue and gold. The Afghani yurt is more romantic with bent willow poles and a deep red ceiling, making it cosy and intimate. The Jaipur yurt is made of coppiced chestnut and is light and airy, with dappled light filtering down through the cork trees. The Safari yurt has a lovely view of the meadow, and is decorated in rich earthy colours. The Maimani yurt, named after its large Afghan kelim from the village of Maimani, is also made of coppiced chestnut, and is larger, with closer lattice and more roofpoles. The yurts are all set up as double rooms with comfy beds, and pieces of traditional Mongolian furniture and exotic textiles.
The camp runs on solar power and the yurts have overhead and bedside lights as well as sockets for charging mobile phones and laptops. They all have private bathrooms with hot showers and ecological loos. We provide towels both for showering and for swimming, and olive oil soaps handmade especially for The Hoopoe.

ACAMPAR CON ESTILO
Cada espaciosa y cómoda yurta está decorada individualmente.
Puedes escojer de entre cinco yurtas muy diferentes. La Yurta Mongola está situada en un claro tranquilo y recluido. Está pintada de naranja tostado con motivos tradicionales en verde, azul y oro. La Yurta Afgana es más romántica, con postes de madera curvados y un techo rojo oscuro, creándo un ambiente más íntimo y acojedor. La Yurta Jaipur está hecha de madera de castaño y es amplia y luminosa, con la luz que se filtra entre las hojas de los corchos a su alrededor. La Yurta Safari tiene una vista preciosa de la pradera y está decorada en vivos colores tierra. La Yurta Maimani, llamada así por su gran kilim Afgano del pueblo de Maimani, tambien está hecha de madera de castaño y es más grande, con un entramado más estrecho y más postes sujetando el techo curvo. Todas las yurtas tienen cómodas camas de matrimonio y piezas de mobiliario tradicional de Mongolia y están decoradas con tejidos exóticos.
El hotel funciona enteramente con luz solar. Las yurtas tienen lámparas de techo y de mesa al igual que enchufes para cargar el móvil u ordenadores portátiles. Todas tienen cuartos de baño privados con duchas de agua caliente y servicios ecológicos. Source text - Spanish Nueva quimioterapia para detener la progresión del cáncer
Se pretende convertirlo en enfermedad crónica
Cada año se diagnostican en España más de 160.000 nuevos casos de cáncer y se calcula que uno de cada tres hombres y una de cada cinco mujeres sufrirá algún tipo de tumor. En la actualidad con los grandes avances de la medicina, podemos decir que existe una nueva esperanza de curación efectiva del cáncer. Se trata de una nueva quimioterapia que a diferencia del tratamiento clásico basado en la destrucción de las células cancerosas, pretende detener la progresión del mismo, convirtiéndolo así en enfermedad crónica.
Este es uno de los objetivos de la biología molecular, la vía en la que hay más esperanzas para cambiar el pronóstico de muchos cánceres que hoy por hoy provocan la muerte, según señaló el catedrático y jefe del servicio de Oncología Médica del Hospital Universitario San Carlos, Eduardo Díaz-Rubio.
Esto se traduciría en un gran paso adelante para la medicina, ya que desde hace menos de cinco años se cuenta con ocho nuevas moléculas capaces de aumentar la supervivencia de los pacientes entre un 20 y un 30% en cánceres avanzados para los que hasta ahora no había remedio.
Y es que la investigación en biología molecular permite ya, reconocer antes de iniciar un tratamiento si un determinado paciente va a responder o no al mismo, además de conocer con antelación las características de las personas que presentan mayor riesgo de padecer algún tipo de cáncer.
Uno de los ejemplos es el tratamiento de los linfomas, que han sido tradicionalmente uno de los tumores más difíciles de tratar, pero que gracias a las nuevas terapias se ha conseguido en muchos casos cambiar el curso de esta grave enfermedad y aumentos espectaculares de supervivencia.
Los tratamientos basados en el código genético de cada paciente, que podría dar lugar en el futuro a una medicina muy individualizada, permiten también menores niveles de toxicidad y un mayor perfil de tolerancia. Por otro lado, el dolor, uno de los síntomas más frecuentes en los pacientes con cáncer, podrá ser evitado fácilmente con los tratamientos actuales, según los Oncólogos.

With the great advances in medicine, we can currently say that there is new hope for an effective cure for cancer. It is a new type of chemotherapy which unlike the traditional treatment based on the destruction of cancer cells, aims to stop the progression of the cancer and turn it into a chronic disease.
This is one of the objectives of molecular biology, the route which holds more hope for changing the outcome of many deadly cancers, according to Eduardo Diaz-Rubio, professor and head of Oncology at the Hospital Universitario San Carlos.
This would result in a giant step forward for medicine, as it has only been five years since they discovered eight new molecules capable of increasing the survival rate by between 20 and 30% in patients with cancer in advanced stages.
The investigation in molecular biology allows to determine whether a patient is going to respond positively to the treatment, as well as showing in advance the characteristics of those people with a greater risk of developing cancer.
One of the examples is the treatment of lymphomas, traditionally one of the most difficult tumours to treat. The new therapies have changed the course of this serious disease and increased the chances of survival spectacularly.
The treatments based on the genetic code of each patient, which could give way in the future to a highly individualised type of medicine, also allows for smaller levels of toxicity and a higher degree of tolerance in patients. According to oncologists, the pain associated with cancer, can be easily avoided with the use of current treatments.
