English to French: KALKAN HARBOUR Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - English the harbour is at the NE end of Kalkan Bay. On approach it is not easy to see the breakwater to the harbour, or the buildings of Kalkan until you are right inside the bay. When mooring go stern orbows-to, although the bottom is sand, holding is not safe everywhere. There is good shelter but the southerly winds cause an uncomfortable surge inside the harbour. Water and electricity is available on the quay and the town has a good selection of restaurants. It used to be a small fishing village at the beginning of last century and it is still small but became a tourist village at the beginning of this century. There are plenty of shops for provisions and several historical sights well. worth a visit. It is believed that up to 50% of the city population is European and mainly British. This is one of the most unique cities and has been well preserved during the last century. It is possible to visit a Greek Ortodox Church next to a Mosque in the city centre. Ps. It is advisable to study Rod Heikell's Turkish Waters Pilot Page 261 for further navigational information.	Translation - French Le port est à la fin du nordeste de la baie de Kalkan. En approchant ce n'est pas facile de voir les brise-lames au port, où même les immeubles de Kalkan jusqu'au moment ou vous serez dans la baie. En amarrant allez strictement en arrière jusqu'a l'amarrage, si bien que le fond est du sable, on est pas sûr d'en avoir partout. Il y a un bon abri mais les vents du sud causent un bondit un peu inconfortable au port. L'eau et l'elèctricité sont disponibles sur le quai et la ville a une bonne sélection de restaurants. Au début du dernier siècle ce village a été un petit port de pêche et continue toujours petit mais c'est devenu un village touristique au début de ce siècle. Il y a un choix de magazins pour les provisions et plusieurs lieus historiques a voir. merite une visite On croit qu'au moins 50% de la population de cette ville est européene et principalement britannique. Cette ville est une des plus uniques et a été très bien conservée pendant le dernier siècle. Il est possible de visiter une Église Greco-Ortodoxe à côté d'une Mosquée en centre ville.
