Ms. Blasco Mayor trained as both an interpreter and a translator at Universidad de Granada (Spain), She has worked as a free-lance translator and interpreter in Spain and taught Spanish language courses at Goldsmiths College (University of London). Currently she teaches Interpreting (consecutive, simultaneous, liaison) and English for Translators and Interpreters in the Translation and Interpreting degree course at Universitat Jaume I (Castell�, Spain) where she is finishing her Ph.D. research which deals on listening comprehension as a cognitive issue in the training of interpreters. She also runs the Interpreting Lab and Virtual Learning Webpage together with interpreting lecturer Amparo Jim�nez and is am also participating in two research projects: on Quality Parameters for Interpreting, lead by Angela Collados (Universidad de Granada), and on Professional Development of Legal Translators and Interpreters, lead by Esther Monz� (Universitat Jaume I). Ms. Blasco Mayor's research interests include cognitive issues (comprehension, attention, memory, bilingualism, second language acquisition) and interpreting, interpreter training, interpreting and new technologies, professional and ethical issues in interpreting, the professional development of court interpreters in Spain.
