A new one? What for? I’m not a CAT user, but I quite often hear my peers commenting on the proliferation of CAT tools… Just for fun, I like MeOw but it’s already trademarked!

I want a RAT tool. Rodent-aided translation. Okay, they do proliferate, but so do CAT tools, so what's the issue. And most translators are already complaining that they're on the hamster wheel, so tool adoption should be easy peasy.
Overheard in my backyard, one mouse to another:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A computer mouse.
Don't, they'll only push you around all day.

Judging from the forums here, most of them should be named after bugs, not mammals.
But I would in all seriousness love to see a new improved Wordfast Classic.

I have used Trados Studio 2011. I would know. A turtle is also much faster than a snail, especially if the snail is dead. See also 1.
Thus said, I would like to demonstrate my commitment and loyalty to this particular piece of software that I use so often, and would like to thank the developers for the Most Wonderful Feature of the new Trados - the fact that if (or should I say 'when'...) it crashes, then you can be sure that at least 95% of the work you have done so far is saved.
PS: Have you ever tried loading a term base with some 5000 terms to Studio, and letting the software populate the target whenever there is a match? I am asking because I don't even bother with loading term bases that contain more than 3000 entries anymore because having it open in Excel and just copy/pasting saves a lot of time indeed.
PPS: My laptop still costs some 400 Euro.
* Even the browser-based ones! I don't know how and why that is possible, and who is cutting the costs by 'not' providing enough computing power to the translators, but the last time I had a big project in an online CAT-tool, it took da thing up to 10 seconds sometimes to load whatever it was in the translation memory.
I hope one day all the translation memories will be gone and forgotten, maybe then the translator will become a well-paid and respected profession again.
Or someone develops a cheetah tool. I would pay thousands of Euro for that tool, really. The idea is great, the software that is on the market right now is not.

Same here. In fact, I'd just like to know how to use all its functions properly (being using it for years and still can't get the glossary function to work). All the other versions have too many bells and whistles for my liking.
