February was a bit slow, but now I have more than I can handle.

Other Apr 27, 2019

Things tend to vary most years, and although this year has been much like last year so far in general, things have been quieter for the past couple of weeks, which is nice. I recently adopted a rescue puppy and it means I can spend more time playing with her, walking and training, etc.

Now that I've said that, I'll probably be snowed under with work next week, which is how it usually happens.

About the same... Apr 27, 2019

The first quarter of 2019 had the usual ups and downs: January and February were slow, March was excellent, and April has been good. So, nothing new, the road has been as bumpy as ever…

about the same, as planned Apr 27, 2019

As usually, this month I got $2500 net for two conferences and made some minor jobs, so now I'm enjoying the Easter holidays while planning my summer holidays to spend some two months at the seaside--and the Indian summer, perhaps, because I can afford it.

Paraphrasing John D Rockefeller: it's a pity some translators are so much into translation only, forgetting about the biz and success (especially considering the average rates).
working hard ≠ becoming rich
Either quantity, or quality--you get the picture.

Up, Up, And Away Apr 27, 2019

I will be working on two book translations at the same time, one from Italian, and one from French, starting this coming month.

Other than that, I spend an hour or two, every single day, working for professors throughout the United States.

mostly up and a bit down Apr 28, 2019

Jan and Feb: way more than last year.
March just a little bit better.
April rather quieter.
May is already looking good with stuff lined up.

25% lower Apr 28, 2019

So far, my statistics show a volume/revenue 25% lower than the same period last year.
