Why wd 2 people use translation software?? If two people know the languages well, do they find the mistakes amusing?? I do, I sent message back and forth with relatives in Costa Rica, Google often translates place names when it should not, misses the relevant antecedents, reference to understood subject, etc, For anything more than simple sentences, a human will always be needed. I send the original followed by the translation, and they do the same,

Language is a means of communication Feb 10, 2018

It is my belief that machine translation will never completely replace manual translation. Today we live in a global village and whether it is Google or any other software, their developers are meeting a pressing need of communication, among other things, in international commerce and science. The translation software has made communication easy for millions of enterprises, scientific establishments, social groups and individuals. Just a couple of decades back, in case a communication was received in a different language, there was no other option but to approach a translator to be able to comprehend the content. Today the translation software has made communication faster, and thereby helping the world at large to move faster. Many commercial establishments are using translation software to communicate with their counterparts. As long as they understand the crux of the communication, they are least concerned about the correctness of the translation.
At the same time, as the world comes closer, there is greater exchange of information in different languages and more and more translation work is being generated, and not all that can be done by machines. There will always be a requirement for manual translations in different fields.
