I'm procrastinating on here. I won't do much work until this evening, as I'm helping out a friend later this morning and going to see about my tax return, thus killing 2 birds with one stone. Workwise, I have at least 3 different "projects" on the go, and other regular work no doubt due to come in too, although so far today my inbox is blissfully empty. All from my own direct, non-agency clients. I've told the only 2 agencies I occasionally work with that I won't be available until ... See more I'm procrastinating on here. I am currently working on a few assignments from large translation companies that do have a soul.
Other - a medium-sized agency | Jan 19, 2017 |
They have won awards for growth and have about 30 employees, so they are not exactly a small company, but they are not one of the big ones either. They still have the personal touch - one of my favourite clients

I am not sure where the line is between large and small companies. The work before me comes from a company that has three or four offices in two countries. Good-sized, I guess, but nothing like the octupi.

My direct clients have kept me so busy that I haven't had time for any agencies for over 2 months - and hopefully it will continue like this for a long time.

You ask about the type of client and the answers are about the types of jobs/projects. These types of jobs can come from any type of client. So the poll needs a revision. I voted other, because I'm working with four different clients in two different types of jobs. One big project for a big company, and three agencies sending me regular smaller jobs as usual.

Now I prefer working (mostly as an interpreter) with direct clients ONLY, but sometimes I still do accept relevant small volunteer jobs to keep in fit. After all this years in the field, I believe that only rich yet naive businessmen can afford an army of... ahem! middlemen)
