I currently don't work with Fluency but I do Audio-Video Transcription and I would like to learn more about how to do it with Fluency.

Hi. I didn't know Fluency also incorporates transcription. The video did not mention if Fluency supports the use of foot pedals. I have an Infinity foot pedal. Would Fluency support it or does it only support keyboard shortcuts?? Also, is the transcription tool included in the price of Fluency is it an additional cost?

Hi Cécile,
Fluency Now has a transcription tool built-in, which allows you to view and transcribe various media types. This includes some of the most popular files types, from pdf and jpg, to mp4, mkv, mp3, and more.

Hi Paulette,
Typically transcription pedals come with software that allows you to program specific shortcut keys to each of its buttons. If that's the case with your Infinity pedal, then you should be able to use it in Fluency Now's transcription tool.
To do this, you would need to open the transcription tool, then open Help > View Keyboard Shortcuts. From here, click on the Keyboard Settings tab.
From here, you can see which shortcut key combination is assigned to each function that you'd like to map to your pedal, then assign that same combination to the appropriate button on your pedal.
Example: If I want the pedal to Play/Pause, I would check that function in Fluency Transcription (Ctrl + Shift + P by default), then assign that to the Play/Pause control on your pedal.
If you have any additional questions, please let us know. The quickest way to get in touch with us is via email at [email protected]
