Hello,

I used to send to my customer, along with the cleaned file, the file "project_save.tmx" from the omegat directory.

But my client has just let me know that this file does not contain the whole translation.

Which is the tmx-file to send to one's customers in order to be sure that it contains the whole translation?

Thanks a lot.

project_save.tmx contains most things, not necessarily in the right format Aug 25, 2015

project_save.tmx contains at least as much translations as the export TMX created for each project.

Depending on how you use or configure OmegaT, what it may not contain are segments where the target text is the same as the source text.

However, the format of the tags in project_save.tmx is not standard. It may also contain "orphan", segments. I.e., segments not related to the documents currently in the /source folder.

It is better to send the export TMX, located at the root of the project. It contains only "current" segments.
http://omegat.sourceforge.net/manual-standard/en/chapter.translation.memories.html#using.translation.memories.from.previous.projects

When you create the target documents in an OmegaT project, the translation memory of the project is output in the form of three files in the root folder of your OmegaT project (see the above description). You can regard these three tmx files (-omegat.tmx, -level1.tmx and -level2.tmx) as an "export translation memory", i.e. as an export of your current project's content in bilingual form.

It is generally recommended to send the level 2 TMX.

Didier
