See more Dear valued Kilgray team members of this forum, This is my latest desperate attempt to get your attention and reply. I'm aware that this world is expected to have an end by the next week-end (at least this is what they try to let us believe!) but I would have appreciated getting a helpful response and reply to my flwg problem. Everyday I've to export the contents of a MemoQ TM to TMX so I can re-import the exported TMX file to another TM in another CAT tool. I just realized that hyperlinks did not seem to be exported by MemoQ into the TMX file. For instance, the flwg segment: Access the latest greater than a href="xxx" lesser than xxx Terms greater than /a lesser than gives Access the latest greater than ph type='fmt' lesser than {} greater than /ph lesser than xxx Terms greater than ph type='fmt'>{} greater than /ph lesser than [Of course "greater than" and "lesser than" are used here to replace actual HTML tags and prevent sample text to be interpreted as HTML on this post.] It looks like the greater than a href lesser than tag was not exported and replaced with a greater than ph lesser than tag. This is really annoying! Many thanks in advance for any clue or help! I tried to work out the issue by importing xml files as plain text files but what I earn in productivity terms by using MemoQ workbench to translate is lost when re-importing the exported TM since segments containing hyperlinks are not properly identified and I have to copy and paste between the two CAT tools. Any help would be highly appreciated. Cheers. Patrick

You will obviously have your reasons for using two CAT tools in tandem, but the obvious solution to me would be to just work in MemoQ and instead of exporting a TMX, importing your TM from the other tool. Is this not an option? | | | Steven Segaert Estonia Local time: 06:48 Member (2012) English to Dutch + ... | posting the answer here as well, maybe it's useful for others too | Dec 20, 2012 |
Hi Patrick, I checked the issue and the only thing that goes wrong is that you are using the HTML filter that uses memoQ tags. If you use the standard HTML filter using inline tags, the contents of the tags are also exported. The whole idea of using memoQ tags is the interchangeability of tags, so no matter what was there in the tag, it should always remain the same. The whole idea of using memoQ tags is the interchangeability of tags, so no matter what was there in the tag, it should always remain the same. Therefore the same segment with a different hyperlink would yield a 100% result - whereas with inline tags, it would be 99%. This is because the uninterpreted formatting tags require you to preserve the order of tags - inline tags don't. So if you want to store the hyperlinks in the TM, just use the HTML filter with inline tags. A HTML with tags is represented like this: Text mit einem Link zu einer <a href="http://www.beispiele.de/andere Seite.htm">anderen Seite</a>. As you see, the tag is there (obviously, the angle brackets are replaced with entities). Best regards, István ▲ Collapse | |

Hello Patrick, I agree with Steven here - if you have a technical problem, you should contact Kilgray directly. If you've already written to support@kilg..... (you know the rest, I expect), then you will have received an automatic reply and a ticket number, so someone will deal with your query as soon as they have time. Support seems to have been very, very busy for the last few weeks, so you may have to wait a little while. ... Support seems to have been very, very busy for the last few weeks, so you may have to wait a little while. The problem you're having seems to be annoying for you, but it's not a critical one, is it? I believe Kilgray also tries to differentiate between urgent and non-urgent calls for help (which is obviously necessary). As Steven has also mentioned, you could try contacting other users through the memoQ mailing list at Yahoo! Groups as there are a number of independent CAT-tool specialists there, too. Kilgray also looks in from time to time, but it's not an official support channel of theirs. I would also recommend you to contact one of these independent CAT-tool specialists directly if all else fails and you really can't wait for Kilgray's customer support. Someone like Kevin Lossner, Dominique Pivard or Marek Pawelec might be able to help you out (possibly at a charge). Is this not an option? Hi Simon, Your suggested solution is not practical in my particular situation. I'm not allowed to explain here why I have to select this route. Suffice it to say that the other CAT tool is a proprietary tool and you may understand me. Cheers. Dear Steven, dear Carl (see his post above), Thanks for your valuable input and yes you stated the most obvious. As you may not be aware, Kilgray's technical support system has been down recently and of course I opened a ticket with them from their Web page. Of course I did not even get any acknowledgement from the system. On the other hand I noticed that Gabor and even István (after he returned from Australia) were posting on this forum. And as far as I could see they were so helpful as to answer support issues from other forum members. So I attempted to post. I posted my original query TWICE, which got unanswered. This is why I decided to shout so I can be heard. I apologize if it seemed unappropriate. I also e-mailed István and Gabor separately. Both proved they really deserve what Loek wrote about Kilgray in his Merry Xmas message which I support totally. As soon as István and Gabor have been aware of my query, they answered it efficiently each on their side. Now I must test their solution and I hope I can manage to definitely solve this issue. Cheers. Patrick
