A combination of the above ... Nov 27, 2012

... corporate documents (not sure what a corporative one is), press articles, websites. Less of the academic texts, books and legal material.

All of the above, EXCEPT ""Corporative", which I believe may be a false friend for "corporate". I do often translate documents for companies though.

Tech trans has no place in today's poll so I'm with Philippe.
And, how about tourism, patents, medicine, biotech, and pharma as well?

With just under 30% of the pollsters leading the way with Other so far, it seems lots of us are in the Twilight Zone.

Categories do not include the technical and engineering subjects (not the same as scientific and academic) which have been my most prolific source materials over the years, though now I am doing more literary and academic.

I am with you there. Technical translation merits respect as an important specialisation. (I am mainly a legal specialist myself.)

Bound to be a popular option for two main reasons :
i) some classic categories are not listed
ii) a combination of the above does not appear in the list.
Even a stats-for-fun analysis will be difficult.

Media and press Nov 27, 2012

Media and press dominates my work load. Close to 80 %, I would guess. Probably because i have many, many years of experience as a newspaper journalist, magazine reporter and editor. Add books to be translated for publishing houses, and my days are full.

It exists, and it could also be listed there.

That is what I do about 90% of the time
