Hello fellow colleagues,

I was wondering if any of you knows anything about a standard reference or glossary concerning energy related texts, engineering (power plants), technical material or anything similar.

I am working for a small company and they are looking for some sort of reference document that is accepted in the industry. Something that can be downloaded or purchased...

Any help where to turn or who to ask would be greatly appreciated!!

However, personally I don't think there's one standard, authoritative source for this kind of terminology. In the field of renewables, for instance, there has been a lot of innovation coming out in recent years, so the terminology is very fresh and still very much in its "coinage" phase, much like in IT. And, generally speaking, even conventional power engineering includes many technologies, such as steam generators, turbines, electrical switchgear, not to mention nuclear -- each with their own specialized terminology ...

But at least the above dictionary bears the name of Siemens -- maybe that'll convice your client
