Of course. Doing charity work might well be included in those projects. And I would be able to make generous donations to charity with some of the money I earned, because in these new circumstances I would never ever accept conditions of payment which were below what I should really be accepting.
Ah well, dream on, accompanied by much gnashing of teeth since our lottery ticket this Christmas was 20 digits away from the "gordo", the big prize winner! ;-(

I don't know really, but I think I'd:
- continue working as a translator, but much less, only for projects I fancy and possibly with higher rates
- translate for free for NGOs too
- and do lots of other things.

I've opted for continuing to be a translator, but in this case I would be more selective as for jobs undertaken and would also dedicate more time to participation in localizing/documenting free software (no such option among the answers).

I can only agree with you, Adnan.
My choice is "Other" because it's not such a simply decision as it might appear to be at first glimpse.
Sure, I would continue to translate, though more for NPOs.
At the same time I would persue my writing career a little more "aggressively", perhaps even become a publisher - one who charges very little to give the non-wealthy and the non-celebrities a chance.
And I would also continue my travels across this earth.
But... these are just some ideas, since it's highly unlikely for anyone to ever win the lottery jackpot without playing it.

I liked seeing that everyone here would still want to work, instead of just live a life of leisure!
As for me, I would probably not translate any more (although you never know) and devote myself fully to my music. And the extra money would also definitely go to helping others, whether through my favorite organizations (like Kiva) or directly. I would really spend some time looking for groups or individuals that I would like to support.

I'd do one or two really interesting projects every month and just have fun the rest of the time. Technically I wouldn't need the money, but I don't see the need to reward cheap clients/agencies, so I'd only work for people who paid the right price.

It is better to donate a portion of lottery-money to charity. My earnings, my status everything came from my work. So it is meaningless to say that "I do not need to work ever again". Money and identity are supplementary to each other. Nobody can live and be satisfied without identity and without money and all these come from one's work only, not from lottery. So I will continue my translation work even after winning a lottery (although I have a great doubt about my luck!!).

As others have already said, I would continue translating, but only for clients that pay well, or for projects that really interest me. I don't see myself translating for charitable organizations.
I started writing a book some time ago, got up to 200 pages and then stopped as work overtook my life. I would give priority to finishing the book.
I would also upgrade my home with a few changes that would make life more comfortable.

You are so right Keshab. I never thought of it like that before.....of course winning lots of money is everyone's dream but think how dull and shallow it would make us!!!!
(How about if we just won enough to not work for say a year....and then went back to normal???!!!!)
