Opening Tag Editor files takes 20 to 30 seconds - help needed

Hi everyone. I'm having some trouble in opening Tag Editor Files, because when I want to open a file, I click on "Open" and it last almost 20 or 30 seconds in opening it. Do you think you could help me to find a solution?

Hello Maria,

- Which TE version?
- Which Operating system?
- Does this happen when you open any file or just a specific file?
- Does the same happen when you open TE then select Open file and when you right-click the file and choose open with TE?

Dear María,

This is quite normal for TagEditor. I have P4 systems and it lasts this long. During segment changes, it will be much faster.

Nevertheless, don't forget to save your work regularly as TE is apt to crash.

Operating System: Windows Vista
This happens when I open any TE file.

File size Oct 23, 2010

Actually, this happens only with very big files. As for a normal file size it opens in two seconds.

Please check file size.

textboxes might be the cause Oct 29, 2010

Hi Maria,

I once came across one similar issue when I opened MS-PPT files which contains numerous textboxes with Trados TE.

SDL Trados has official solution for that with hotfixes.

I can send you these hotfixes(around 6M in winzip format) if your files are also with many textboxes.
