I use Wordfast classic. I have one word in Norwegian that has two different translations in the same document. One of these words is in bold font, and the other is normal. I want to know if there is a way to tell a TM to select one translation for a word when it appears in bold font and select another word when the font is normal.

AFAIK, there is no way to do that. Maybe you could do a find and replace operation to "pretranslate" that word before translation?

No, but you can search for the word in bold, and add a letter to it (e.g. an X) and then add that word (with the X) to your glossary.

I don't know if it's still supported, as I stopped upgrading WF Classic two years ago, but I find it invaluable. Try adding "RichMemory" to Pandora's Box. From the Wordfast Knowledge Base:
RichMemory - Adding "RichMemory" to PB enables the TM to store the Bold, Italic and Underline attributes. The TM can then serve segments that replicate the document's source segments attributes, if any. The necessary information is stored in the attribute #5 *if it is not used*, which is usually the case. All this is a mere experiment. If this feature proves invaluable, it could be extended to other attributes (font color and size etc) and make use of a dedicated field. Dunno. I never missed attribute-blindness myself, except on rare occasions. So rare I even don't remember. We'll see."
Despite what it says above, it also works with colors and superscripts/subscripts and font size.

Hi
Rich Memory is no longer available in WF so unless you have an old version you can't use it. Also as far as I know it would not have solved your problem, as all it did was store the words attributes but as far as I know it did not allow you to have two different translations for the same word or segment.
