Hi,
Yesterday, I received a job offer from a company that claims selling art. Due to the nature of the message I have received in response to my interest, I have reasons to think that it may actually be a scam. Look at the 3rd message and you will probably agree with me.
Best regards
Alfredo

1.
Thank you for getting back,
Brief introduction of the business: My wife and I are into the sales of art materials ranging from sculptures to antiquities and we seek for customers locally, door to door sales and we often send/sell overseas. In our effort selling this items we encounter some language barrier both locally and internationally because not all the people we have come across understands English Language, this is where the need arise to engage your service as our translator.
I will like to know what it will cost me to hire you and your preferred payment method. You will be translating all the documents that I received from customers into English Language and vice versa because all e-mails/letters correspondence received from customers will be forwarded to you. Also you will be translating documents on my behalf.

NB: Please see the attached and fill it in correctly and attach it back to your e-mail, You can as well reach me on [telephone number] and if I'm not there please kindly leave a full description of your humble self in the voice message.

2.
Thanks for getting back,

I will like you to tell me the exact cost of doing the job and forward me the invoice.

3.
Thanks for getting back.
I will like to inform you that I will be going for a major surgery on my tommy to do a tommy tuck in Australia and my wife will be there with me all through the period of the SURGICAL OPERATION and if the surgery is successful I will spend about four weeks to recover and to visit the Doc if there is any complication(s). I will forward your address to my customer whom I have supplied my art product and he will contact you from time to time to discuss his mode of payment. Please do act in my capacity to collect the fund from him and deduct the cost of the material/text I gave you to translate for me and wait for my instructions on how to use the remaining balance with you, you are doing this foe me because I don't have a child of my own or sibling who can take care of the business while I am away with my darling wife in Australia. Please all I need from you is honesty and if you are trustworthy I believe I can put you through on how to buy art materials and how to sell them on a large scale to make enormous profit for yourself and your family.

Thanks.

The scammer... Sep 18, 2010

I got a call coming from one of the phone numbers in his signature. I was not at home and he left a message. I searched for the number in the Internet and found many reports from people being hassled by calls from this number, which is impossible to track. I have not had any more phone calls nor messages since then. In the last message I got from him he said that I was a scammer artist and that he would sue me. They're all over the Internet.

Be careful with CVs, specially if they're online. Never put your ID number, Social Security number or even your date of birth. ID theft is rampant... because nowadays is a VERY EASY thing to do.
