A good point about "not translating a text you do not understand", Ali. In my experience there are many translators who do just that, yet surely this defeats the whole point of translation! For some reason, there are those that believe it isn't necessary to fully understand a scientific/technical text and that all you need is a reliable dictionary. This sloppy attitude becomes clear on browsing through the Kudoz.
