Hi everybody!
I get this error message when I try to open a .docx file with TagEditor. I have Office 2003 and Windows XP installed on my computer. My Trados version is 7.0. I have read other posts in this same forum and tried every singl... See more Hi everybody!
I get this error message when I try to open a .docx file with TagEditor. I have Office 2003 and Windows XP installed on my computer. My Trados version is 7.0. I have read other posts in this same forum and tried every single proposal but nothing seems to work. The filter Word_1_0_0_0.xml does appear in the TT folder. I don't know what to do. Please, whoever answers be as clear as possible because I am not much acquainted with technology (and maybe that's my main problem).....

Hi Lourdes,
Here's what I do when this happens:
1. Open the TagEditor (ttx) file in a text editor, such as WordPad.
2. Find the text string "SDL Trados Word 2007 Filter 1.0.0.0" in the file (minus the quotation marks, of course).
3. Very carefully, change this string to "TRADOS Word Filter 1.0.0.0" (with TRADOS all in upper case). Save the file and exit the text editor.
4. Open the file in TagEditor and edit it as normal.

5. When you have finished editing the file, remember to change the text string "TRADOS Word Filter 1.0.0.0" back to "SDL Trados Word 2007 Filter 1.0.0.0" (again in a text editor) before sending the file to the client.
All being well, that should work!

Oh, Neil!!! I must thank you once and once again!! Finally it works!!! First I tried changing "Trados" to "TRADOS" and it didn't work; then I deleted "2007" and it didn't work either. Till in the end I also deleted "SDL", and then it worked!!! You've been of great help!!!! Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

I have the same problem, but not for a particular file, but when analyzing or cleaning files. I have downloaded a trial version of SDL Trados. Could the problem be linked to this?

Hi all,
It also helped me a lot, and with two different jobs in the same week. I still do not know how there are so many people hooked on Trados... too many years working with the same tool and bugs are not only left unfixed, but new ones appear... thanks to colleagues like you who help the rest coming outside this mess... I just wonder why the instructions in the help article on SDL's website do not work. I tried many times but only Neil could help

Great thanks to you!!! I sufferred from this problem for a long time, as the ttx docs my client sends me are usually from docx format, and I have Word 2003. How great it is not to see this annoying block everytime I have to work with TagEditor! Thanks!

Unfortunately, it seems not to work for Excel 2007:((( I tried the same procedure for Excel 2007 file in ttx format today, but it failed...(( If you manage to solve this problem as well, please share it with us!

Hi Elena,
Try changing "SDL Trados Excel 2007 Filter 1.0.0.0" to "TRADOS Excel Filter 2.0.0.0".
That worked for me in the past.

P.S. I've now upgraded to Trados 2007 (and indeed Trados Studio 2009), so thankfully I don't have to go through this rigmarole any more...
