1) An equivalent to the "Scan" function in DejaVu X. The "Concordance" function can't even compare, and won't find matches even if I can see them right there in the screen. 2) An equivalent to "Change Case". If I find a 100% match in the TM but it's in different case, I have to type it again. 3) A way to show only NOT confirmed rows (equivalent to the "All Unfinished Rows" in DejaVu). Right now I am doing it by using the filter to show everything but confirmed rows (by checking ALL criteria but it), but I'd say it's like going to the house next door by walking all around the block. 4) An actual User Manual. In PDF. Sorry but the Help simply won't do. ▲ Collapse | | | Hynek Palatin Czech Republic Local time: 14:17 Member (2003) English to Czech + ...

Kathrin, Have you really found a complete user guide there? Hynek
Thanks Kathrin, but it's just the quick start guide. It would be nice an actual User Guide, to be able to exploit all the features of this software. However, the most serious drawback I found is the lack of a Scan function, Concordance is limited to Source Text. Perhaps it's me and I haven't been able to find it? | | | For those of us without DejaVu X | Mar 30, 2010 |
Can you please describe what the Scan function does in DejaVu X? It will be interesting reading, and maybe we users can suggest something similar. There is also a chance that a similar functionality exists in MemoQ. | | | Similar to Concordance, but in both Source and Target texts. | Mar 30, 2010 |
You highlight a term, right-click Scan and it will search for all the instances of the term, showing the TUs where it appears. It's useful not only to find how you translated a term -similar to Concordance- but also has the advantage of searching words within the Target text, which is very useful when you work with pre-translated text, as well as for style and synonyms.

Right under the tabs in memoQ you can see Source and Target fields over the translation grid. You can enter the search word in either of them or in both. | | | Mikhail Popov Montenegro Local time: 14:17 English to Russian + ... Ctrl+Shift+F | Mar 31, 2010 |
Just highlight any word or phrase and press Ctrl+Shift+F. It works in Source and Target absolutely perfect. Filter is very powerful option in MemoQ. I can choose any kind of segment to show and I can work with these segments. I like this option.

I've been using MemoQ for 6 months now and never wondered what the boxes were for. Tremendously useful!! So far I did a Find for the term with marking, then filter by marking. Thank you so much for sharing Mykhailo. | | | Thanks by the tips, people. | Apr 2, 2010 |
I hope I will make better use of MemoQ now. But I still want an User Manual!!! Regards, Edwal

Hi, I'm downloading the User Guide now. In the meantime, I was wondering - have you found your answer to 3, a straightforward way to show only NOT confirmed rows (seems like an obvious feature to work on unfinished portions of a translation?) Thanks, Marc
