I'm quite sure this has been asked before, but unfortunately I have the EMERGENCY to translate a PPT file and.....I do not have nay TRADOS toolbar on the screen !

What can I do ?

Hi,

Don't expect such a toolbar in PowerPoint.

Start Trados TagEditor and open the ppt file. From then on, you can translate the ttx file as usual. At the end, just save the target as PPT again.

You might need to resize some fields afterwards.

Thanks a lot Tamas for your help but when I open TAG EDITOR and from it I open any PPT file I hane, I get a message error: (80005) Connection with server application error: operation or method not available.

(sorry I have an Italian version and this is just a translatin)

But what is the TTX file you speak about ?

Be sure you have created a TM, and.. Sep 9, 2009

Follow these steps:

Start > Programs > SDL TRADOS 7 Freelance > Translator's Workbench.

Once you have your TM activated, Start > Programs > SDL TRADOS 7 Freelance > TagEditor > PPT.

Once translated, Save target as...

And that's it.

Thanks, this is exactly what I do: normal procedure. But I still have a 80005 error !

Hi Lionel,
this error is usually caused by inserted objects, such as images, WordArt items, or even the Euro (€) character. Removing/Replacing them with plain text should help.
