Curiosity didn't kill the cat May 15, 2008

I have always been curious to know where the majority of ProZ members is located.

I can see that Europe is leader by now, but it's still early morning (8-10 AM) in the Americas, and late evening in Asia, so this will probably change the balance later.

How about the Caribbean May 15, 2008

I answered "Other", because I am neither in North America nor in South America, but in the Caribbean. I wonder what Central American would say too.

I think this may have to do with the time of the day. I suspect it will change a bit within the next few hours.

(PS: Just realised iTranslate made the same point above)

Amazing too... May 15, 2008

It's amazing, how we, guys, are able to share our clients in Europe with legions of translators! Luckily enough, we can go global.

Sorry, Africa May 15, 2008

Up until 3 months ago I would have helped to bump up the Africa percentage but since I left South Africa and am currently (temporarily) in Germany, I'm adding to the Europe percentage.

"The Americas"? May 15, 2008

Yeah, probably using "The Americas" would have covered the continent as a whole and competition would have been thrilling across time zones!

And here is the first representative to this poll from Asia with some assumptions May 15, 2008

The current statistics which I can see now is: while there are around 70% voters voted for Europe, there are less than 6% voters who are from Asia continent.

I cannot resist myself deducting following assumptions out of it:

1. Either, the number of translators/agencies enrolled on Proz.com from Asia region is much much less in number than those from Europe,
2. Or, Asian translators/agencies are very less interested and, therefore, do not participate on Proz's Pol

3. Or, both the above.

Nice poll!
