Since then the xxx European Works Council agreement has been renewed and updated at its various expiry dates. This new agreement, reached after discussions between the Management Team and a negotiating team appointed by the Employee Representatives, updates the terms of the agreement and extends the term until December 31, 2015.
The purpose of the xxx EWC is to facilitate a dialogue between the Company and all of its Employees within the European Union, Norway and Switzerland on matters of pan-European concern. Single country matters are normally not the responsibility of the xxx EWC. It is hoped that the Company management representatives and the Employee Representatives will participate in the xxx EWC in a spirit of co¬operation, good faith and mutual trust. Both will have due regard to their reciprocal rights and obligations as well as due consideration for the interests of xxx as a whole, of all its Companies, Employees and shareholders. The xxx EWC is not intended in any way to change existing communication mechanisms at local Company level. Further, the xxx EWC will exist alongside any current local works councils and in no way detract from the powers with which such local councils are invested according to national legislation. National and European processes will usually run in parallel but independently from each other. Unless otherwise required, they will start with a reasonably close period to each other. The processes can be finalized independently.
The Company wishes to utilize the opportunities provided for in this Agreement to inform covered Employees of its business and social performance, its key plans and likely future prospects as explicitly outlined in this Agreement and to afford Employee Representatives the right of consultation. It is expected that the xxx EWC will create meaningful communication on the matters described in this Agreement and increase awareness among all Employees of the reality of the ever-changing business and regulatory environment in which the Company operates.

This document, the WHO RH-MNCH Technical Guidance Note offers support to country teams and stakeholders that are developing proposals to the Global Fund and other Partners. It is specifically focused on information that supports inclusion of maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) and reproductive health (RH) within disease-specific and/or cross-cutting health systems and community systems strengthening proposals.
The aim is to assist countries in accelerating progress towards achieving the health-related Millennium Development Goals for women, children and people affected by HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and other major diseases, by maximizing synergies and linking interventions to achieve the maximum possible impact on health outcomes within the context of each country.
The WHO RH-MNCH Guidance Note provides access to the normative technical guidance and other documents and resources on specific aspects of MNCH, health systems and community systems strengthening, HIV, TB and malaria. This provides the necessary technical back ground to support practical guidance documents from other organisations on these topics.

Source text - English FROM THE FIRE OF 1992 TO THE PRESENT DAY
FOR MOST OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY the castle survived as it was in the nineteenth century, even coming through various bombing raids in the Second World War relatively unscathed. But on 20 November 1992 a serious fire broke outin Queen Victoria’s private chapel at the north-east angle of the Upper Ward. It is thought to have been caused by a spotlight igniting a curtain high up over the altar.
Despite the efforts of the castle staff and the fire brigade, the fire spread rapidly at roof level, destroying the ceilings of George IV’s St George’s Hall and Grand Reception Room as well as gutting the Royal Family’s private chapel, the State Dining Room, the Crimson Drawing Room and various subsidiary rooms. By great good fortune the rooms worst affected by the fire were empty at the time as they were in the course of being rewired. As a result very few of the castle’s artistic treasures were destroyed. The principal casualties were a sideboard and a painting, George III at a review by Sir William Beechey, both of which were too big to move.
Repair and restoration began immediately after the fire. Two committees were set up to supervise the work – a general Restoration Committee, chaired by The Duke of Edinburgh; and an Art and Design Committee, which was chaired by The Prince of Wales. The damaged rooms were restored to the original George IV and Wyatville designs, but those areas which had been totally destroyed – including the old private chapel, the Holbein Room and the roof of St George’s Hall – were rebuilt to harmonious new designs by Giles Downes of the Sidell Gibson Partnership, who were chosen out of a short-list of four architects. Their aim was to create a modern Gothic style, original in its detail, but continuing in a long English tradition stretching back almost without break to the Middle Ages. The Lantern Lobby is the principal new interior in this style in the castle, and is notable for its fine proportions and the ingenious handling of space to create interesting vistas and connections, as well as for its superb craftsmanship.
A further new development has been the creation of the Jubilee Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen. The Jubilee Garden stretches from the main visitors’ entrance to St George’s Gate on Castle Hill, and is the first garden to have been created at the castle since the 1820s. It takes its inspiration both from the castle’s historic parkland landscape and from the picturesque architectural style introduced at Windsor by Sir Jeffry Wyatville. The trees in the garden echo those found in its park, such as beech, lime, holm oak and robinia, while a large shrubbery on the south side contains plants such as lilacs, philadelphus, viburnums and magnolias, all typical of the shrubbery plantations of the time of George IV.
At the centre of the garden a stone bandstand is the setting for regular performances by the bands of the Household Division. The bandstand repeats in its decoration the image of the Garter Star – a motif which the visitor encounters throughout the castle.

Pendant la majeure partie du XXe siècle, le château conserva son aspect du XIXe. Il sortit même relativement indemne des bombardements de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Mais le 20 novembre 1992, un grave incendie se déclara dans la chapelle privée de la reine Victoria, au niveau de l’angle nord-est de l’enceinte du château. Cet incendie serait, pense-t-on, dû à un spot qui aurait mis le feu à une tenture au-dessus de l’autel. Malgré les efforts du personnel du château et des sapeurs-pompiers, l’incendie se propagea rapidement vers le toit, détruisant les plafonds datant du règne de Georges IV dans le Hall de St Georges et le Grand salon de réception. La chapelle privée de la famille royale, la Salle à manger d’apparat, le Salon cramoisi et d’autres annexes furent entièrement ravagés. Par chance, les salles les plus touchées étaient vides au moment de l’incendie car on y refaisait l’installation électrique, d’où le faible nombre de chefs-d’œuvre détruits. Parmi les pertes les plus importantes, on compte toutefois un buffet et un tableau de Sir William Beechey, représentant Georges III lors d’une revue, trop encombrants pour être évacués.
Les travaux de réparation et de restauration commencèrent immédiatement après l’incendie. Deux comités furent chargés de superviser les travaux : un comité de restauration générale, présidé par le duc d’Edimbourg, et un comité d’art et de création, présidé par le prince de Galles. Les salles endommagées furent restaurées conformément à la conception originale de Georges IV et de Wyatville, alors que les salles totalement détruites, comme l’ancienne chapelle privée, la Salle Holbein et la toiture du Hall de St Georges, furent reconstruites en suivant de nouveaux plans harmonieux. Les travaux furent confiés à Giles Downes de la société Sidell Gibson Partnership, sélectionnée parmi une liste de quatre cabinets d’architectes. Downes créa un style gothique moderne, fidèle dans ses moindres détails, tout en préservant une longue tradition anglaise remontant pratiquement sans interruption jusqu’au Moyen Age. Le Vestibule à la lanterne est la principale salle de ce nouveau style dans le château. Ses belles proportions et l’ingénieux aménagement de son espace, avec des angles et perspectives intéressants, sont remarquables, tout comme la qualité du travail.
L’autre nouveauté est le Jardin du jubilé, que l’on doit à Tom Stuart-Smith et qui fut créé pour commémorer le Jubilé d’or de Sa Majesté la reine. Le Jardin du jubilé s’étend de l’entrée principale des visiteurs jusqu’à la Porte St Georges, sur Castle Hill, et constitue le premier jardin créé dans l’enceinte du château depuis les années 1820. Il s’inspire du parc historique du château et du style architectural pittoresque introduit à Windsor par Sir Jeffry Wyatville. Les arbres du jardin sont le miroir de ceux du parc : des hêtres, des tilleuls, des chênes verts et des robiniers s’y côtoient. Quant au grand bosquet situé dans la partie sud, on y trouve une variété d’arbustes, tels des lilas, des seringas, des viornes et des magnolias, tous typiques de ceux plantés sous le règne de Georges IV.
Au centre du jardin se dresse un kiosque à musique en pierre où jouent régulièrement les fanfares de la Household Division. La décoration de ce kiosque n’est pas sans rappeler l’étoile de la Jarretière, motif récurrent dans le château.
