Originally from Mexico City. Rebeca was raised bilingual and bicultural, educated at the American School Foundation and at Universidad Iberoamericana. She relocated to the United States in 2003 and acquired a master's degree in English & Publishing.

In Mexico, Rebeca worked as a non-fiction editor for Editorial Santillana. In the United States, she has worked as a medical editor for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and as a modern languages editor at John Wiley & Sons.

As a freelance contractor, Rebeca has been a translator for:

- Discovery Labs, a biopharmaceutical company in Pennsylvania;

- pro-bono for an immigration law firm in Minnesota;

- Multilingual Connections, a languages company in Illinois;

- the Mexican Journal of Neuroscience, in Mexico;

- Ovia Health, in Massachusetts.

Rebeca is also a CCHI Certified Healthcare Interpreter™ and works as a contractor for Fluent Language Solutions | LanguageLine in Chicago.

Translation work has included regulatory documentation to submit to the FDA, medical journal articles, hospital and clinical intake forms, professional books for a medical publisher, Spanish language learning books for an academic publisher, marketing surveys and focus group reports for an advertising agency, contracts and legal forms, law enforcement interviews, corporate reports, website & app content and social media.

Other language services include localization, transcriptions, and consecutive interpretation.

Rebeca was recently a full-time contractor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois working as a Marketing Communications Consultant for Hispanic Market Communications & Strategy.

Her current role is as full-time Translations and Content Project Coordinator at Great Minds.
