I am originally from Mexico City. I was raised bilingual, educated at the American School Foundation and the Universidad Iberoamericana, and moved to the United States in 2003.
In Mexico I worked as a non-fiction editor for Editorial Santillana, a renowned international publishing company.
In the United States I've worked as a medical editor for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and a modern languages editor at John Wiley & Sons.
As a freelance contractor I've been a translator for:
- Discovery Labs, a pharmaceutical company in Pennsylvania
- an immigration law firm in Minneapolis
- Multilingual Connections, a languages company in Chicago
- the Mexican Journal of Neuroscience, in Mexico
And I'm an interpreter for Fluent Language Solutions in Chicago.
Translation work has included regulatory documentation to submit to the FDA for a pharmaceutical company, medical journal articles, hospital and clinical intake forms as well as book chapters for a medical publisher, Spanish language learning books for an academic publisher, contracts and legal forms for an immigration law firm, marketing surveys and focus group reports for an advertising agency, law enforcement and corporate translations and transcriptions for a translation agency, website and online media translation and localization, consecutive interpretation and translation services for a language services company, and works of fiction, among others.
I'm currently open to project inquiries.
