Source text - English If you agree to take part, you will undergo a complete medical history, physical examinations, some blood tests, ECG and brain imaging by computerised tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Based on the results of these tests, your treating physician will decide whether or not you can participate in the study.
In order to monitor your condition and to assess whether your occluded brain vessel has been reopened the same scan you will undergo before getting the investigational drug will be repeated between 12 -24 hours after treatment. If your first scan was CT your second scan will be as well, and in this case you may receive a second injection of a contrast agent. However, your physician will inform you whether or not imaging of your brain vessel will be repeated at the second scan. For study purpose, blood will be drawn 8 times during your participation in the study. There will be 4 time points of blood draws shortly before and within 24 hours after investigational drug administration. The remaining 4 time points will be at 72 hours, 30 days and 90 days after getting the investigational drug in addition to the time when you are leaving the hospital.
Translation - German Wenn Sie einer Teilnahme an der Studie zustimmen, wird man Ihre gesamte Krankengeschichte erheben und ärztliche Untersuchungen sowie einige Bluttests durchführen. Außerdem wird bei Ihnen ein EKG durchgeführt und es werden mittels Computertomographie (CT) oder Magnetresonanztomographie (MRT) Aufnahmen Ihres Gehirns angefertigt. Ausgehend von den Ergebnissen dieser Tests wird der behandelnde Prüfarzt entscheiden, ob Sie an der Studie teilnehmen können oder nicht.
Um Ihren Gesundheitszustand zu überwachen und um zu bestimmen, ob das verstopfte Blutgefäß wieder offen ist, wird die gleiche Untersuchung (CT oder MRT) 12-24 Stunden nach der Behandlung mit dem Prüfmedikament wiederholt. Wenn Ihre erste Untersuchung eine CT war, wird auch die zweite Untersuchung auf diese Weise durchgeführt, und in diesem Fall erhalten Sie eine zweite Injektion des Kontrastmittels. Der Prüfarzt wird Sie jedoch darüber informieren, ob bei der zweiten Untersuchung erneut eine Aufnahme Ihrer Hirngefäße erfolgt oder nicht. Zu Untersuchungszwecken wird Ihnen im Laufe der Studie achtmal Blut abgenommen. The concomitant use of potassium sparing diuretics, potassium supplements and potassium containing salt substitutes with X is not recommended (see section 4.5).
The renin-aldosterone link is mediated by angiotensin II and therefore coadministration of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist tends to reverse the potassium loss associated with thiazide diuretics.
