Source text - English It is common for victims of sexual assault to have feelings of embarrassment, anger, guilt, panic, depression, and even fear for months and even years after the attack. Other common reactions include loss of appetite, nausea or stomachaches, headaches, loss of memory or trouble concentrating, and changes in sleep patterns. Emotional support is available from the facility’s mental health and medical staff, and from the chaplains.
Translation - Portuguese Vítimas de violência sexual freqüentemente vivenciam sentimentos de vergonha, raiva, culpa, pânico, depressão e até medo durante meses ou anos após o fato. Outras reações comuns são: perda de apetite, náusea ou dores estomacais, dores de cabeça, perda de memória ou problemas de concentração e mudanças nos padrões de sono. As detentas poderão obter apoio emocional com a equipe médica ou com o pastor designados pela entidade correcional.
