I am 52 years old, a British national with a B.A. (Hons) in German, Danish and History (from the University of East Anglia, Norwich) and an MA in Applied Linguistics and History (from the University of Hamburg, Germany).
I worked as a project manager at a translation company in Munich for 1.5 years and then took over as office manager there and ran it for the next 5 years until Dec. 2004.
I've been self-employed since Jan. 2005 (12+ yrs to date) and run my own small translation and editing business, Amper Translation Service, in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich, Germany.
My main focus is on German > English translations and copy-editing in English (mainly academic articles and manuscripts). I have lived in Germany for 28 years and spent a year living and working in the UK in 2015-16.
I'm a member of the BDÜ, the largest translators' association in Germany (www.bdue.de; ever since 2006). I take part in the association's CPD events as well as attending webinars.
