I am a certified translator, having obtained my Official Translator Certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice, Colombia. This means that I am authorized to translate legal documents (marriage and divorce certificates, birth certificates, adoption papers, contracts, agreements, etc). I am also registered at the American Embassy in Colombia and the Ministry of Foreign Relations. For this I had to pass a very stringent exam.
Although I do not posses formal diplomas in translation, I have completed several seminars on translation presented by the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia. I have a diploma with honors from the University of Michigan, for an English Profiency Exam.
I have ample working experience in translation as I have worked in the United States and Colombia with international Banks and companies and a large part of my responsibilies have always involved translation. For the past 20 years I have worked as a free-lance translator and interpreter, gaining hands-on experience in translating and interpreting many topics.
