A full dense texture with ripe tannins and well integrated oak complete this perfectly structured and beautifully balanced wine.
Cabernet Shiraz
This carefully crafted blend sourced from South Australian regions, including rich succulent Shiraz from Barossa Valley and refined Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra, has created a Shiraz Cabernet with great intensity and depth of flavour. A uniquely Australian red blend, the wine features a seamless palate with a core of sweet, soft fruit tannins and a long, firm yet texturally balanced finish.

This GSM exudes the best elements of all three varietals while typifying the unique style of the region. The bouquet is rich and dense, with layered aromas of plum, Turkish delight, white pepper and spice. The palate is rounded, with ripe dark fruits and spicy savoury flavours, and rich, silky fruit tannins persisting to the finish. Careful cellaring of this wine for the next 5-8 years will enable further development and reveal additional layers of integration.

English to Chinese: Our first-quarter financial results have been released General field: Bus/Financial
Source text - English Our first-quarter financial results have been released. I encourage you to read our press release.
Market conditions, unfortunately, have not substantially improved since my last update. Customer demand for our products has remained at a low level as a result of the global economic downturn. In addition, customers across all our businesses have continued to fulfill a portion of their sales from existing stocks to avoid costs associated with new production. As a result, our first-quarter sales came in at levels we saw in December when the global economy sharply declined, and were 39% below the first quarter last year.
Cost and Expense Management Impact
Even as sales declined from the fourth quarter of 2008, our gross profit margin improved quarter to quarter. Our gross margin percentage improved to 17.3% from the fourth-quarter margin of 16.7% on an adjusted basis (excluding precious metal sales and one-time charges).
The reduction in our cost of sales, in percentage terms, nearly matched the sharp sales decrease we experienced. This achievement is the direct result of our business teams’ success in rapidly lowering manufacturing costs.
Our teams also have done a great job in restraining capital spending. First-quarter capital spending was better than our target and we’re on track to achieve our budgeted 50% reduction from 2008 capital spending levels, while continuing to invest in important information systems projects and plant equipment.

English to Chinese: Myth Busters website copy General field: Medical Detailed field: Cosmetics, Beauty
Source text - English Myth Busters: Washing your face too frequently causes pimples
Washing your face too often or too vigorously can irritate the skin and remove skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving skin feeling dry and tight. When this happens skin automatically produces more oil which can lead to new pimples. Keeping your skin clean and balanced is the best way to prevent pimples, blackheads and oily shine. To do this it is recommended to cleanse skin twice a day. For best results follow cleansing with toner and moisturizer designed to help to prevent pimples.
Myth Busters: Hand squeezing is the best way to get rid of blackheads
Hand squeezing blackheads can damage skin, leaving it red and often looking worse than it did before you squeezed. The best way to get rid of blackheads is daily use of a specialized cleanser for blackheads. Blackhead cleansers use gentle scrubbing beads to clear the accumulated oil and blackhead from the pores. Used daily a blackhead cleanser will also help to prevent new blackheads forming by keeping pores free of oil, dirt and dead cell build up. To avoid blackheads cleanse regularly and look for skin care and makeup products that are oil-free and non-comedogenic (do not clog pores).
A healthy diet including lots of fresh fruit and vegetables gives your body all the right vitamins and nutrients needed to make skin healthy. Certain vitamins found in food stimulate the skin and help with the formation of new skin cells. Vitamins to focus on are the antioxidants A, C and E.
Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, the support mechanism of the skin. It also makes skintone more even as well as improving skin texture. Vitamin C enriched foods are green leafy vegetables and fruit such as strawberries, mangoes, citrus fruits, broccoli and herbs.
Vitamin A regulates the way the body grows and develops. Try carrots, oily fish, cheese, milk, spinach, and eggs.
Vitamin E strengthens muscle fibres and improves skin suppleness, helping skin to maintain its elasticity. Food sources include avocado, eggs, nuts and seeds, wholemeal pasta and soya milk.
Myth Busters: Oily skin comes from not washing your face properly
Your skin is oiliest during your teen years which means that you need special products to keep oil under control. Your first defence to manage oil is frequent washing with a good facial cleanser. Look for cleansers that deliver deep cleansing, oil control or oil removal benefits. Moisturising cleansers may leave a residue that makes oily shine even worse. Watch out for over cleansing. Twice a day is sufficient. During your teenage years the amount of oil produced by your skin is at its highest. This excessive oil production is caused by the change in hormones during puberty. Hormones called androgens affect oil glands in the body, making them go into over drive. The glands get bigger and produce more oil (known as sebum). In fact your skin is more oil during your teen years than at any other time in your life, which is why young skin needs different care to adult skin. Oil is the ‘enemy’ for young skin and plays a key role in causing many common skin problems including pimples, blackheads and oily shine.
Myth Busters: Drinking 8 glasses of water a day will keep skin healthy
The skin is your body’s largest organ. Skin is alive, with new cells born every day. If you don’t drink enough water your body becomes dehydrated and so does your skin. This is because the body will grab water for the most vital organs first, before giving any to the skin. Drinking water not only hydrates your skin but also flushes through the kidneys, to help get rid of toxins, helping skin to look clearer and feel healthier.
Myth Busters: To squeeze or not to squeeze?
The problem with picking and squeezing skin is that it causes inflammation and bruising in the skin which can leave a dark mark after the pimple is gone. Marks can last for months and can be hard to get rid of, so if possible avoid picking and squeezing. When a pimple is popped it often transfers bacteria into the surrounding skin cells, which can lead to new pimples forming. If you have already picked or squeezed the most important thing is to thoroughly clean the pimple area. Cleanse skin, follow with a toner and then pimple treatment gel. Follow this regimen at least twice a day to help clear the pimple fast and avoid further scarring.
Translation - Chinese 《
English to Chinese: Why do Americans work so hard? General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English Oscar Wilde said that work is the refuge of people who have nothing better to do. If so, Americans are now among the world’s saddest refugees. Factory workers in the United States are working longer hours than at any time in the past halfcentury. America once led the rich world in cutting the average working week—from 70 hours in 1850 to less than 40 hours by the 1950s. It seemed natural that as people grew richer they would trade extra earnings for more leisure. Since the 1970s, however, the hours clocked up by American workers have risen, to an average of 42 this year in manufacturing. Several studies suggest that something similar is happening outside manufacturing: Americans are spending more time at work than they did 20 years ago. Executives and lawyers boast of 80hour weeks. On holiday, they seek out fax machines and phones as eagerly as Germans bag the best sunloungers. Yet working time in Europe and Japan continues to fall. In Germany’s engineering industry the working week is to be trimmed from 36 to 35 hours next year. Most Germans get six weeks’ paid annual holiday; even the Japanese now take three weeks. Americans still make do with just two. Germany responds to this contrast with its usual concern about whether people’s aversion to work is damaging its competitiveness. Yet German workers, like the Japanese, seem to be acting sensibly: as their incomes rise, they can achieve a better standard of living with fewer hours of work. The puzzle is why America, the world’s richest country, sees things differently. It is a puzzle with sinister social implications. Parents spend less time with their children, who may be left alone at home for longer. Is it just a coincidence that juvenile crime is on the rise? Some explanations for America’s time at work fail to stand up to scrutiny. One blames weak trade unions that leave workers open to exploitation. Are workers being forced by costcutting firms to toil harder just to keep their jobs? A recent study by two American economists, Richard Freeman and Linda Bell, suggests not: when asked, Americans actually want to work longer hours. Most German workers, in contrast, would rather work less. Then, why do Americans want to work harder? One reason may be that the real earnings of many Americans have been stagnant or falling during the past two decades. People work longer merely to maintain their living standards. Yet many higherskilled workers, who have enjoyed big increases in their real pay, have been working harder too. Also, one reason for the slow growth of wages has been the rapid growth in employment—which is more or less where the argument began. Taxes may have something to do with it. People who work an extra hour in America are allowed to keep more of their money than those who do the same in Germany. Falls in marginal tax rates in America since the 1970s have made it all the more profitable to work longer. None of these answers really explains why the centurylong decline in working hours has gone into reverse in America but not elsewhere (though Britain shows signs of following America’s lead). Perhaps cultural differences—the last refuge of the defeated economist—are at play. Economists used to believe that once workers earned enough to provide for their basic needs and allow for a few luxuries, their incentive to work would be eroded, like lions relaxing after a kill. But humans are more susceptible to advertising than lions. Perhaps clever marketing has ensured that “basic needs”—for a shower with builtin TV, for a rocketpropelled car—expand continuously. Shopping is already one of America’s most popular pastimes. But it requires money—hence more work and less leisure. Or try this: the television is not very good, and baseball and hockey keep being wiped out by strikes. Perhaps Wilde was right. Maybe Americans have nothing better to do.
English to Chinese: Paris, the glittering ‘Ville-Lumière’ General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - English Paris, the glittering ‘Ville-Lumière’, never stands still for long. The style capital of the world, Paris sets the trends that the rest of us follow, from art to fashion. This is the city that invented the boulevard, created haute couture, and gave birth to that icon of urban architecture, the Eiffel Tower.
It’s a city of innovation, but with a rebellious steak – a trait celebrated every 14th July with spectacular fireworks on the Champs de Mars. With typical élan, each year sees the appearance of Paris Plage, which transforms the banks of the Seine into a summer playground. Parisian romance and artistic flair combine magically in the Nuit Blanche – a hugely popular ‘sleepless night’ around October in which museums and galleries across the city open all night to host avant garde exhibitions, installations, and performances.
Known for their effortless elegance, Parisians are also respected for their savoir faire. It’s natural, therefore, that La Vallée Village has become a “must do” shopping destination in a city where you can have your pick of all things très chic. Located just 35 minutes outside central Paris, La Vallée Village has over 90 luxury outlet boutiques offering reductions of 33% to 60% on the recommended retail price, all year round.

English to Chinese: Thomas Jefferson's Qur'an General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English Facing the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. stands the Jefferson Building, the main building of the Library of Congress, the world's largest library, with holdings of more than 140 million books and other printed items. The stately building, with its neoclassical exterior, copper-plated dome and marble halls, is named after Thomas Jefferson, one of the "founding fathers" of the United States, principal author of the 1776 Declaration of Independence and, from 1801 to 1809, the third president of the young republic. But the name also recognizes Jefferson's role as a founder of the Library itself. As president, he enshrined the institution in law and, in 1814, after a fire set by British troops during the Anglo-American War destroyed the Library's 3000-volume collection, he offered all or part of his own wide-ranging book collection as a replacement for the losses, commenting that "there is in fact no subject to which a member of Congress may not have occasion to refer."
Among the nearly 6500 books Jefferson sold to the Library was a two-volume English translation of the Qur'an, the book Muslims recite, study and revere as the revealed word of God. The presence of this Qur'an, first in Jefferson's private library and later in the Library of Congress, prompts the questions why Jefferson purchased this book, what use he made of it, and why he included it in his young nation's repository of knowledge.
These questions are all the more pertinent in light of assertions by some present- day commentators that Jefferson purchased his Qur'an in the 1780's in response to conflict between the US and the "Barbary states" of North Africa—today Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. That was a conflict Jefferson followed closely— indeed, in 1786, he helped negotiate a treaty with Morocco, the United States' first treaty with a foreign power. Then, it was relations with Algeria that were the most nettlesome, as its ruler demanded the payment of tribute in return for ending semiofficial piracy of American merchant shipping. Jefferson staunchly opposed tribute payment. In this context, such popular accounts claim, Jefferson was studying the Qur'an to better understand these adversaries, in keeping with the adage "know thy enemy." However, when we look more closely at the place of this copy of the Qur'an in Jefferson's library—and in his thinking— and when we examine the context of this particular translation, we see a different story.
From his youth, Thomas Jefferson read and collected a great number of books, and a wide variety of them: The collection he eventually sold to the Library of Congress comprised 6487 volumes, ranging in subject from classical philosophy to cooking. Like many collectors of the time, Jefferson not only cataloged his books but also marked them. It is his singular way of marking his books that makes it possible to establish that, among the millions of volumes in today's Library of Congress, this one specific Qur'an did indeed belong to him.

Source text - English The revolutionary crystal glasses from the new Château Baccarat Collection reveal the complexity, richness and subtlety of wine better than any other glass yet created.
As the world’s leading provider of luxury crystal, Baccarat has been enhancing the most prestigious tables for 250 years. Now Baccarat continues its leadership with this new collection, offering its legendary expertise - both aesthetic and technical.
With the growing diversity of wines worldwide, Chateau Baccarat was created mindful of the trends and styles of today. Through a range of unique and universal glasses, the collection is aimed at enhancing the drinking experience for every palate.
The Château Baccarat glass collection is designed according to a slender trapeze line with the intent of giving elegance and depth to wine. The revolutionary design unleashes full-bodied aromas and flavors while minimizing alcohol, enabling the wine to gain in subtlety without losing intensity.
Rich in phenolic compounds, red wines need full amplitude to release their aromas. With its curved shape and generous volume, the Château Baccarat red wine glass highlights the wine’s entire aroma profile by allowing optimum aeration thanks to its flattened shape and wide and deep chimney.
Due to their acidity and minerality, white wines require less volume to express themselves. With its smaller size, the Château Baccarat white wine glass flattened shape increases flavor intensity as well as the aroma’s complexity.
How the Shape Works:
1° Rounded “Concave” Bottom, Wide Base: When swirling, these attributes prevent the alcohols from rising too much on the inner surface of the glass. The shape also preserves the subtle aromas and allows the wine to retain all its smoothness and aromatic body.
2° Closed Angle: In order to let the diverse aromas express themselves, the closed angle condenses the alcohol’s volatile matter, and allows subtle aromas to fill the glass during rotation.
3° Vertical Chimney: On top of being comfortable for the lips, the vertical chimney showcases the wine’s complexity by reunifying and consolidating the aromas.
The Château Baccarat wine glasses represent the culmination of centuries of craftsmanship combined with revolutionary 21st century performing design.

English to Chinese: Reed Exhibitions Russia went live General field: Marketing
Source text - English On Thursday, November 17 Reed Exhibitions Russia went live. The road was turbulent and lengthy. The most important thing is that the team in general is as enthusiastic as it was three years ago when the first presentation of SFDC took place. And although it may seem that the journey is over…it’s not. It’s actually just the beginning. The beginning of the new era of RXR that will involve considerable adjustment in the day-to-day processes and sales culture of our company.
Some would think that the introduction of SFDC simply means the installation of software that will start functioning independently of everything with a push of a button. This is not true. The long journey towards Drop 1 and Drop 2 demonstrated that apart from technical and software implications the combined effort of the teams proved crucial during implementation. We were very lucky to have Robert Kelman as our Project Manager who led the Russian team patiently and cautiously towards the implementation.
Let it be no secret that the process is quite demanding from both the Nucleus and the Sales team sides. We would advise those businesses that follow in our footsteps to realistically evaluate the time that is needed to prepare for the roll-out and plan accordingly. It is also important to allow a short time slot between Drop 1 and Drop 2 (if the roll-out takes place in ‘phases’) to ensure the enthusiasm of the team doesn’t deteriorate.
Before the introduction of SFDC we didn’t have any CRM whatsoever and all our data was held in excel spreadsheets. There is a positive side to that, as well as a more challenging one. The positive is that our young, enthusiastic and ‘technology-hungry’ team were eager to embrace the new software without comparing shortcomings and benefits to the pre-existing one, however, the challenging part is that the business processes associated with an automated CRM system should be built from scratch. This is a challenge that we acknowledge and are prepared for.
The language barrier may sometimes create obstacles, especially where training is concerned. We were lucky to have a very good, experienced trainer from the UK for the major part of the team whilst the remaining non-english speaking users will enjoy coaching from our super-users.
The next couple of weeks will be crucial (doctors usually say that phrase) as the teams will start using SFDC all day long - starting new sales cycles for most of our shows – and there will be a lot of dependence on the smooth running of the the system , which will will be reflected in mood of the team. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that if the glitches occur they will be resolved fast.
TIPS FOR THOSE WHO FOLLOW
Everything below relates to specific BU circumstances and might not be applicable to your situation.
• Having a scheduled implementation plan, and keeping in mind that it can slip. To be precise, it will slip. The important thing is that this slippage does not cross any of the events;
• It is best to start with moving all data to a unified data model that reflects SFDC ideology (RXR can share it's own). be this some intermediate in-house system or a simple Excel spreadsheet. Improving data quality is a lengthy and painful process. There is no harm in commencing this process 12 months prior to expected launch, or even earlier. SFDC cannot make good data out of bad data.
• Just having all company data in one format, in one place is a great relief, and even more powerful is the functionality that SFDC brings to our once CRM-less operation.

Source text - English The Bomber Jacket
The Heritage
With a firm place in history, the bomber jacket has long been a staple in the Ralph Lauren menswear collections. Originally gaining fame during the early days of aircraft, the warmth, comfort and immense style of this piece has transcended aviation regulation. Early pilots, seen as risks takers, lent the bomber jacket an aura of daring, a heritage still associated with men who wear this piece today.
Style Tip
Take style cues from the officers’ club and pair your leather bomber jacket with a tailored pants and brogues, over a crisp shirt and tie. Or make like a maverick and go for a more casual alternative with a crisp white T-shirt and denim for an eternally cool vibe.
The Camel Coat
The Heritage
The camel coat has highlighted the style sensibilities of refined men for decades. Eternally elegant and always classic, this piece of outerwear is not only functional but also works with most pieces in your fall wardrobe. Although it makes a classic statement, the style of the camel coat is versatile enough to be either a traditional or trendy piece.
Style Tip
Take inspiration from the gentlemen of past generations and drape it casually over your suiting on a brisk evening to class up your look. An added benefit: It works just as easily with casual weekend outfits of denim, wool pants and sport shirts.
The Tweed Jacket
The Heritage
The argument can be made that no other garment more strictly defines the idea of the English gentleman than the tweed jacket. This hard wearing garment is essential, not just for warding off the chilly air, but for its dependability and strength. The tweed jacket is as at home in a city office as it is on a weekend jaunt in the country.
Style Tip
Opt for matching your tweed jacket with jeans for a more relaxed look, or like the Duke of Windsor, with a pair of wool pants and an ascot for a day at the races.
The Newsboy Cap
The Heritage
Incorporating a touch of old-world style is a Ralph Lauren signature. Always classic, the newsboy cap not only adds a dash of whimsy to your outfit but it’s also a cool way to keep you warm.
Style Tip
If you’re feeling particularly inspired, feel free to team the cap with everything from tweed jackets to nubby sweaters to create a head-to-toe- look.
The Cardigan
The Heritage
As the perfect layering piece for the season, the cardigan provides much needed warmth while adding style to your look. The cardigan can inject variety into your wardrobe as you pair it with different style on different occasions. A well-fitting cardigan made of cashmere will provide maximum warmth and luxurious air.
Style Tip
The versatility of the cardigan allows you to dress it up or down. Consider wearing a cardigan over your shirt and tie and doing away with your jacket for a more casual look, and add the jacket for an extra layer of warmth when the temperature drops.

English to Chinese: Wellington Overview Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - English Wellington, NZ
With its hillside Victorians with bay views, trendy restaurants and nightlife, it's no wonder Wellington is often compared to San Francisco. Film buffs already know the happening New Zealand capital for Lord of the Rings, but there's much more to experience, from the country's best museum, to hip boutiques, and great cuisine.
What to See
Wellington’s top attractions intersect at the waterfront Te Papa Museum of New Zealand, an impressive museum with a superb Māori meetinghouse. The Kelburn Cable Car offers terrific views as it ascends to the lush Wellington Botanic Garden—sit on the left for the best view. No visit is complete without a day trip to Lord of the Rings movie locations.
Where to Eat and Drink
Wellington's finest restaurants source local ingredients and wines from nearby Wairarapa—a top pinot noir region. Try the seasonal menu at the iconic White House or grab a beer with politicians at Back-Bencher Pub & Café. Hot new restaurants and bars regularly pop up on Cuba Street; traditional eateries are on Courtenay Place.
Where to Stay
Most of Wellington’s best hotels, like the landmark InterContinental, lie near the waterfront, while charming B&Bs, like Booklovers, are scattered in the hills. A burgeoning apartment-style hotel scene now offers a taste of local living; all-suites CityLife has great weekend specials.
Where to Shop
For chic gifts, look for carved jade (or greenstone) jewelry in the Golden Mile shopping area, home to Old Bank Arcade and Kirkcaldie & Stains, Wellington's version of Harrods. For funkier boutiques, head to Cuba Street, where Area 51 carries popular local labels.
Local Flavor
Explore beyond downtown for an insider's view: Attend a rugby match at Westpac Trust Stadium; admire expensive art deco buildings along Oriental Bay; and, for a memorable Maori experience, visit the National Tattoo Museum.

English to Chinese: Olympic Games - London 2012 - BOXING Detailed field: Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Source text - English History
Historically the testing ground for future greats such as Cassius Clay, George Foreman and Lennox Lewis, boxing guarantees some of the most intense action of any Games.
Boxing was originally considered too dangerous for the modern Games, although it did make an appearance in 1904 in St Louis because of its popularity in America. It was finally added to the Olympic schedule proper in 1920.
How does it work?
The sport may be familiar to most people in its professional form, but Olympic Games competition remains based around the principles of amateur boxing – where points scoring is just as important as knockout power.
"Points are scored when a fighter lands a punch on their opponent’s head or midriff. Scores are calculated by a panel of five ringside judges, with the highest
and lowest tallies for each fighter removed at the end of each round and the remaining figures averaged.
"
Those points are then made public, with the winner the fighter who amasses the most points over the course of the contest, or who scores a knockout.
2012 competition structure
Men's contests – which are grouped according to weight and range from light-flyweight (46-49kg) to super-heavyweight ( 91kg) - are fought over three, three-minute rounds.
Meanwhile, London 2012 will be unique in that it will also mark the debut of women's boxing on the Olympic stage, with the women competing in three classes - from flyweight (48-51kg) to middleweight (69-75kg) - over four, two-minute rounds. Look out in particular for Irish lightweight Katie Taylor to be one of the stars of the inaugural women's competition.
All boxing tournaments are fought on a straight elimination basis, with fighters paired at random and progressing through to the final. There is no third-place contest - instead both losing semi-finalists are given bronze medals.

Hello Stanley!
I hope you are well. I have received feedback from the client on the translation of the questionnaire. Below you will see the feedback:
“The translation was done perfectly, and I would highly recommend to use the same source again, if needed. Most of amendments I made were made to improve the translation, word sequence, apply it for local specifics, but not to fix it.”
Overall I can say that they are very pleased with the work you did and I would be honored to work with you in upcoming projects for this client. –Idelys

I am a native Chinese speaker with over 15 years of experience in the translation industry, having translated millions of words to and from Chinese so far without receiving any major complaint from my clients. I can ensure satisfaction in translation quality while maintaining a high daily output.
After being with a translation and education company in Shanghai International Studies University for less than two years, I worked as a freelance translator for several years before joining Interfax, a world-renowned news agency with offices across the globe, where I first worked as the only in-house translator and editor, and later was promoted to Project Manager. In this role I was responsible for overseeing the press release translation project for Business Wire, an international newswire service owned by Warren Buffett. With these experiences I’ve polished my translation skills and capabilities in a wide range of subject fields. I'm confident that I would be a valuable addition to any of your projects.
I graduated from the School of International Studies of Xi’an Jiaotong University, a top-tier "985" Chinese university where I studied English language and literature and obtained my TEM-8 certificate.
My rate for translation and revision is 0.08 USD and 0.04 USD per source word, respectively, and my current daily output is 3,000-3,500 words. My working hours are from 9AM to 8PM China time Monday to Sunday.
