As a professional my performance is focused on creating a successful outcome for all parties involved and a pleasant work experience overall. My training gives me the ability to adapt to diverse topics, and my experience shows that I can handle highly technical subject matter skillfully. Having participated in many different aspects of the language industry, I have learned the value of good teamwork through personal experience both as a team member and a team leader. During the last ten years my translation and interpretation assignments have ranged from the community level communications to international conferences and technical subject matter.

I worked 18 years as a staff interpreter and translator for the International Boundary and Water Commission, working on technical documents in the areas of hydrology, wastewater management, and hydraulic structures, and interpreting at binational (US & Mexico) diplomatic meetings and exchanges. I worked extensively with the State Department's Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program, both in the U.S. and Colombia, as well as on other counter-terrorism and security related translation and interpretation assignments. In addition to keeping up with advances in information technology as part of my professional growth, I have translated and interpreted such topics as wireless technology, database interfaces and solution platforms. Rounding out my industry experience is two years of experience as a multilingual project manager.
