My speciality is in Native American languages, specifically Lakhota (Dakota, Nakota), but with some practice in Hopi, Dine (Navaho, Navajo), and Ojibwa/Chippawa, and with unique or rare resources on quite a few others. I am more a Linguist than a translator, spending much of my time understanding how Word and Meaning evolove through cross-culture contact. I do, however, have sufficient resources and experience to help provide English glosses for many "common" and/or religious words that one may encounter in materials that reference Native Cultures.
The other reasons I am here at Proz are to learn the art of translation into english from Russian and or French, and to improve my Russian and French skills. |
