Source text - English If you find yourself in a situation where you need to both catch a train and a good meal, Central Station's 1e Klas restaurant is a good choice. This is no run-of-the-mill station buffet though many have complained that it is a bit overpriced. Travelers will often linger over their meals here and then make a mad dash through the station to catch their trains. The dining room here is magnificent and has been restored to its original Art Nouveau elegance. There are high ceilings, wood paneling and large extending windows. There is also a parquet floor and chandeliers. An abundance of easily seen clocks on the wall will help you to keep up on the time in any city in the world.
This isn't just a high class restaurant, however. It is also possible to make a quick stop for a cup of coffee or a beer. There are numerous tables alongside the wall made just for this purpose. If you are in the mood for a big meal, however, you can get a table in the central dining area. The soup of the day is a great standby at 1e Klas and it is quick and easy just like a club sandwich. Don't forget the great Caesar salad here and the beef stroganoff! The 1e Klas restaurant is a big hit!
Translation - Dutch Mocht u in een situatie verkeren waarin u de trein moet halen maar ook nog een goede maaltijd wilt gebruiken, dan is restaurant ‘1e Klas’ op het Centraal Station een prima keus. Dit is geen doorsnee stationsbuffet – anderzijds klagen veel mensen dat de prijzen een tikkeltje aan de hoge kant zijn. Regelmatig dromen reizigers hier weg boven hun maaltijd en rennen daarna als bezetenen door het station om hun trein te halen. De eetzaal is magnifiek en gerestaureerd in de oorspronkelijke elegante Art Nouveau stijl. Men vindt er hoge plafonds, houten betimmering en grote schuiframen, evenals een parketvloer en kroonluchters. Een groot aantal duidelijk zichtbare klokken aan de muur zorgt ervoor dat u op de hoogte blijft met het tijdstip van de dag in elke stad van de wereld.
Maar dit is meer dan alleen een eersteklas restaurant. U kunt er ook een korte tussenstop maken voor een kop koffie of een biertje. Een groot aantal tafels staat hiervoor langs de wand opgesteld. Bent u echter meer in de stemming voor een uitgebreide maaltijd, dan kunt u een tafel kiezen in het centraal gelegen deel van het restaurant. De soep van de dag is al bijna een maaltijd op zich in ‘1e Klas’ en hij wordt snel en zonder omhaal geserveerd, evenals de club sandwich. Vergeet ook de geweldige Caesar salade en de boeuf Stroganoff niet! Restaurant “1e Klas’ is gewoon een topper!
