Auf der Basis der bereits erfolgreichen Zusammenarbeit der Firmen
Eubus GmbH, München und TQ-Components GmbH, Weßling stellt TQ auf der diesjährigen electronica das erste „TQM hydraXC“ Modul vor, das auf der neuen High-End FPGA Familie Virtex-5 von Xilinx basiert. Aufgrund des langjährigen FPGA Knowhows des TQ Entwicklungspartners Eubus konnte mit der Entwicklung der Virtex-5 basierten Embedded Computing Modulen „TQ hydraXC“ sehr früh begonnen werden, so dass die Familie jetzt auf der electronica 2006 vorgestellt werden kann. Erste Muster die auf dem FPGA XC5VLX50 basieren stehen für Key Kunden bereits zur Verfügung.
Geplant sind zunächst 4 verschiedene Module mit den Virtex-5 FPGAs XC5VLX30, XC5VLX50, XC5VLX85 und XC5VLX110, die bis zum Frühjahr 2007 nach und nach vorgestellt werden. Entsprechende Starter Kits sind ebenfalls in der Entwicklung und in kürze verfügbar.
Die Virtex-5 basierten Module unterscheiden sich gegenüber den bisherigen, die auf Virtex-4 basieren, erheblich in der Logik-Kapazität, der System Performence, niedrigeren Stromverbrauch, wesentlich höhere RAM-Kapazität und effizientere DSP Blöcke. Die neuen „TQM hydraXC“ Module sind skalierbar und ebenfalls in der TQ-Standardgröße 54 x 44mm verfügbar. Sämtliche „TQM hydraXC“ verfügen über ein 10/100 Base-T Ethernet Interface (zukünftig auch 1GB Ethernet), drei High-Speed USB 2.0 Interface, Host/Device (OTG) mit bis zu 480Mbps sowie SDRAM und Flash Speicher. Darüber hinaus sind die Module mit einer Real-Time Clock, 2 Status LEDs und einem konfigurierbaren Regulator für VCCIO und Vref für die verschiedensten I/O Standards in 4 unabhängigen Bänken ausgestattet.
Standardmäßig werden alle „TQM hydraXC“ mit einer vorkonfigurierten uCLinux Version und einem vorcompiliertem 32Bit MicrBlaze Softprozessor geliefert. Andere Konfigurationen sind auf Wunsch lieferbar. Außerdem können auch alle anderen, gängigen Embedded oder Real-Time Operating Systems zur Anwendung kommen, wie z. B. Windriver VXWorks, Micrium uC/COS-II RTOS, eCOS, Monta Vista LSP, AT Nucleus PLUS RTOS, ONX Neutrino RTOS, Express Logic ThreadX sowie andere und auch Stand Alone Systeme (no O/S)
Die „TQM hydraXC“ Produkt-Philosophie macht die Anwender unabhängig. Es sichert seine Designs über Jahre hinaus wenn ein Prozessor, ein Controller oder ein anderes Bauteil abgekündigt und nicht mehr verfügbar ist.
Die Module sind ideal für Applikationen in den Breichen Embedded Processing, sehr schnelle und komplexe DSP Designs, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet Anwendungen (bald auch 1Gbit Ethernet), System Management Processing, High-Speed USB Designs, sehr schnelle Finit State Machines und andere High-Speed Designs mit oder ohne Prozessor.
Die Module werden hauptsächlich in den Breichen Telekommunikation, Industriesteuerungen, Messgeräte aller Art, Medizintechnik, Militärtechnik sowie im Bereich Automotive eingesetzt.

Based on the successful collaboration between the companies Eubus GmbH, Munich and TQ Components GmbH, Weßling TQ is presenting at this year’s electronica the first TQM hydraXC module that is based on the new high-end FPGA family, the Virtex-5 by Xilinx. Given the years of FPGA expertise that TQ’s development partner Eubus possesses, development started early on the Virtex-5 based embedded computing modules, the TQ hydraXC, enabling the family to be presented at electronica 2006. Initial examples based on the FPGA XC5VLX50 are already available for key customers.
There are initial plans for four different modules with the Virtex-5 FPGAs XC5VLX30, XC5VLX50, XC5VLX85 and XC5VLX110 that will be gradually released between now and spring of 2007. Related started kits are also being developed and will soon be available.
The Virtex-5 based modules differ substantially from prior modules based on the Virtex-4 in their logic capacity, system performence, low power consumption, much higher RAM capacity and more efficient DSP blocks. The new TQM hydraXC modules are scalable and also available in the TQ standard size of 54 x 44mm. All TQM hydraXC modules have a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface (1GB Ethernet in the future), three high-speed USB 2.0 interfaces, host/device (OTG) with up to 480 Mbps, and SDRAM and Flash memory. In addition, the modules are equipped with a real-time clock, 2 status LEDs and a configurable regulator for VCCIO and Vref for a wide range of I/O standards in 4 independent banks.
All TQM hydraXC modules come standard with a preconfigured uCLinux version and a precompiled 32Bit MicrBlaze softprocessor. Other configurations are possible if desired. In addition, all other conventional embedded or real-time operating systems can be used such as Windriver VXWorks, Micrium uC/COS-II RTOS, eCOS, Monta Vista LSP, AT Nucleus PLUS RTOS, ONX Neutrino RTOS, Express Logic ThreadX and others, as well as stand-alone systeme (no O/S).
The TQM hydraXC product philosophy makes the user independent. The user’s designs remain userful for years even when a processor, controller or other component is discontinued and no longer available.
The modules are ideal for applications in embedded processing, very fast and complex DSP designs, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet applications (soon 1Gbit Ethernet as well), system management processing, high-speed USB designs, very fast Finit State Machines, and other high-speed designs with or without a processor.
The modules are primarily used in telecommunications, industrial controls, measuring devices of all kinds, medical technology, military technology, and automotive applications.
