Yes, You can be an adult Indigo. They did not JUST start coming in now, the numbers have just been increasing more and more til there are so many we finally can not ignore them. Are you an adult Indigo?
Please note, I (Wendy Chapman) am the first person to publish anything about indigo adults. Everything else I had heard or read prior to 2001 said that indigo children started in the late 70s and early 80s. I received thousands of emails in 1999 and 2000 from people who claimed to be adult indigo children. These people were over 25, and mostly over 30 years old, and had very similar characteristics to indigo children, plus or minus a few. The differences to indigo children were reliably coming up in nearly every letter. I collated this data and came up with a list of indigo adult characteristics, published here in Feb. 2001. The list has born the test of time, with tens of thousands more people recognizing themselves and writing to me. I am very glad to have made this contribution to the world!

Indigo Adult Characteristics
* Are intelligent, though may not have had top grades.
* Are very creative and enjoy making things.
* Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something.
* Had disgust and perhaps loathing for much of the required and repetitious work in school.
* Were rebellious in school in that they refused to do homework and rejected authority of teachers, OR seriously wanted to rebel, but didn't DARE, usually due to parental pressure.
* May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.
* Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigos resist authority and caste system of employment.
* Prefer leadership positions or working alone to team positions.
* Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.
* May be extremely emotionally sensitive including crying at the drop of a hat (no shielding) Or may be the opposite and show no expression of emotion (full shielding).
* May have trouble with RAGE.
* Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.
* Alienation from or anger with politics - feeling your voice won't count and/or that the outcome really doesn't mattter.
* Frustration with or rejection of the traditional American dream - 9-5 career, marriage, 2.5 children, house with white picket fence, etc.
* Anger at rights being taken away, fear and/or fury at "Big Brother watching you."
* Have a burning desire to do something to change and improve the world. May be stymied what to do. May have trouble identifying their path.
* Have psychic or spiritual interest appear fairly young - in or before teen years.
* Had few if any Indigo role models. Having had some doesn't mean you're not an indigo, though.
* Have strong intuition.
* Random behavior pattern or mind style - (symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder). May have trouble focusing on assigned tasks, may jump around in conversations.
* Have had psychic experiences, such as premonitions, seeing angels or ghosts, out of body experiences, hearing voices.
* May be electrically sensitive such as watches not working and street lights going out as you move under them, electrical equipment malfunctioning and lights blowing out.
* May have awareness of other dimensions and parallel realities.
* Sexually are very expressive and inventive OR may reject sexuality in boredom or with intention of achieving higher spiritual connection. May explore alternative types of sexuality.
* Seek meaning to their life and understanding about the world May seek this through religion or spirituality, spiritual groups and books, self-help groups and books.
* When they find balance they may become very strong, healthy, happy individuals.
Please note, anyone could have a few of these traits, but Indigo Adults have most or all of these 26 characteristics.

Sim, podes ser um adulto índigo. Os adultos índigo não começaram a aparecer APENAS agora; os números têm vindo a aumentar, sendo agora tantos que não os podemos continuar a ignorar. Serás tu um adulto índigo?
Note-se, no entanto, que eu (Wendy Chapman) sou a primeira pessoa a publicar algum material sobre os adultos índigo. Características dos Adultos Índigos
* São inteligentes, embora possam não ter tido as melhores notas na escola.
* São muito criativos e adoram fazer coisas.
* Precisam sempre de saber PORQUÊ, em particular quando se lhes pede para fazerem alguma coisa.
* Detestavam e talvez tenham mesmo criado aversão a muito do trabalho repetitivo que lhes era exigido na escola.
* Eram rebeldes na escola, na medida em que se recusavam a fazer os trabalhos de casa e rejeitavam a autoridade dos professores; OU então queriam muito revoltar-se, mas não se ATREVIAM, normalmente devido à pressão exercida pelos pais.
* Podem ter, desde cedo, vivido experiências de depressão existencial e sentimentos de impotência, os quais podem ter ido desde tristeza a um desespero absoluto. Pensamentos suicidas, enquanto ainda se encontravam na escola secundária, ou até mesmo antes, são frequentes no adulto índigo.
* Têm dificuldade com empregos no sector dos serviços. Os índigos resistem à autoridade e ao sistema hierárquico laboral.
* Preferem posições de liderança ou trabalho independente, a funções em que tenham de trabalhar em equipa.
* Têm profunda empatia pelos outros, apresentando, no entanto, intolerância para com a estupidez.
* Podem ser de uma extrema sensibilidade emocional, incluindo chorar por tudo e por nada (sem barreira de protecção), ou serem o oposto e não revelar qualquer tipo de expressão emotiva (barreira de protecção total).
* Podem ter problemas com a IRA.
* Têm problemas com os sistemas que consideram obsoletos ou ineficazes, como por exemplo o sistema político, educativo, médico e jurídico.
* Sentem alienação ou fúria para com a política; sentem que o que pensam não conta e/ou que o resultado não importa.
* Sentem frustração, ou até mesmo rejeição, perante o sonho americano tradicional: trabalhar das 9 às 5, casar, ter 2,5 filhos, ter uma casa com jardim, etc.
* Sentem ira quando são privados dos seus direitos; sentem medo e/ou fúria perante o “Grande Irmão” que os observa.
* Têm um desejo ardente de fazer algo para mudar e melhorar o mundo. Podem estar impedidos de fazer o que gostariam. Podem ter dificuldade na identificação do seu caminho.
* Têm interesses psíquicos e espirituais desde muito cedo, antes ou durante a adolescência.
* Tiveram poucos ou nenhuns índigos como modelo. No entanto, o facto de terem tido alguns não significa que não sejam índigos.
* Têm uma grande intuição.
* Têm um padrão de comportamento ou estilo mental aleatório (sintomas de Transtorno de Deficit de Atenção). Podem ter problemas de concentração em tarefas que lhes foram atribuídas; podem saltar de tema em tema no meio de uma conversa.
* Tiveram experiências psíquicas, tais como ter premonições, ver anjos ou fantasmas, ter experiências fora do corpo, ouvir vozes, etc.
* Poderão ser sensíveis à electricidade: os relógios de pulso não funcionam, as lâmpadas apagam-se quando passam por baixo delas, os aparelhos eléctricos funcionam mal e as lâmpadas fundem-se.
* Podem ter consciência de outras dimensões e realidades paralelas.
* São sexualmente muito expressivos e inventivos OU podem rejeitar a sexualidade por aborrecimento ou com o objectivo de obterem uma ligação espiritual mais elevada. Podem explorar tipos alternativos de sexualidade.
* Procuram o significado das suas vidas e a compreensão do mundo. Podem procurar consegui-lo através da religião ou espiritualidade, grupos e livros espirituais, grupos e livros de auto-ajuda.
* Quando encontram o equilíbrio, podem-se tornar indivíduos muito fortes, saudáveis e felizes.
Note-se que qualquer pessoa poderá identificar-se com algumas destas características, mas os adultos índigo têm a maior parte ou todas estas 26 características.
