Source text - English Fosamax is an aminobisphosphonate, a selected inhibitor of bone resorption that is the first non-hormonal therapy for use in patients with osteoporosis.
Efficacy: In the landmark Fracture Intervention Trial (FIT), the largest prospective osteoporosis study ever conducted, FOSAMAX was shown to be the first medicine to not only significantly reduce the incidence of spinal fractures, but to also reduce by 51% the incidence of painful debilitating hip fractures among postmenopausal woman in the general population. In randomized, multicenter, placebo-controlled 2-3 years studies of approximately 1,800 postmenopausal women, FOXAMAX 10 g increased bone mineral density of the spine by 8.8%, hip by 7.8% and femoral neck by 5.9% vs. placebo.
Contraindications: Patients with abnormalities of the esophagus which may delay esophageal inputting, such as a stricture or achalasia and in patients who are unable to stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes. Hypocalcemia. Hypersensitivity to any component.
Objectives of Clinical Study: To assess the effect of oral alendronate vs. placebo on a) the percentage change in bone mineral density (BMD) of spine when administered for up to 12 months in patients treated with 7.5 mg or more of prednisone/day (or equivalent); b) hip and total body BMD; c) biochemical markers; d) histomorphometry.
Study Design: FOSAMAX was tested in two US (n=232) and international (n=328) double blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled multicenter studies. Each study was 48 weeks long, with a one year extension. Patients were stratified according to glucocorticoid exposure and received FOSAMAX 2.5, 5 or 10 mg, elemental calcium (800-1000 mg), vitamin D (250-500 IU). Patients on placebo also received elemental calcium and vitamin D.

However, obsessive-compulsive patients sometimes do get diagnosed (or misdiagnosed) as schizophrenic. This is largely due to the superficial similarity between obsessions and the delusions (intensely held, personal false beliefs) that schizophrenics commonly hold. Ordinarily, the two phenomena can be distinguished from each other. A schizophrenic delusion is a belief intensely held by the patient – that is, he has no insight that it is false (for example, he really believes that the enemies are sending radio waves to harm him), whereas an obsession is experienced as ego-dystonic – that is, not in keeping with one's own beliefs and thoughts – and is seen as unwanted.
The Psychoanalytic View
There are many versions of the psychoanalytic theory of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Broadly, however, these views can be summarised as follows:
Obsessions and compulsions are symptoms of some deeper problem in the person’s unconscious mind. Certain memories, desires, and conflicts are kept out of consciousness, or repressed, because they would otherwise cause anxiety. These repressed elements may later manifest themselves as neurotic symptoms. Fixation (or ‘getting stuck’) at a particular stage of development, caused by various factors during one’s formative years, determines the nature of the neurotic symptoms that appear in this way in later life. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is linked in this way to the stage of development which is called, in this theory, the ‘anal-sadistic stage’, in which toilet training is a major feature.

When a manufacturer and his agency plan to deploy an advertising budget, they always have four specific media-related objectives in mind:
• To maximize reach; the number of homes that receive the advertising at least once.
• To boost to as high a level as possible the frequency of concentration; the number of times the commercials are exposed in each home.
• To cover as large a part of the year as they can: in other words, to maximize continuity; or looking the continuity form the opposite point of view, to minimize the duration and number of gaps in the schedule.
• To buy the schedule as cheaply as possible, measuring the price by the cost per thousand homes reached.
Marketing Practice
One of the most striking changes in marketing practice during the 1980s and 1990s has been the continuous shift in the proportion of the aggregate expenditure on advertising and sales promotions that manufacturers moved out of advertising and into promotions. According to Donnelley Marketing, advertising’s share declined massively – from 42 percent in 1978 to 25 percent in 1993.
The reasons for this trend have been extensively discussed in books, journal articles, and conferences. The most common reasons given are the cessation of growth in most product categories, which has led to a substantial boost to tactical (i.e., promotional) rather than strategic (i.e., advertising) activities; increased demand for short-term rather than long-term results; the increasing concentration, strength, and bargaining power of the retail trade; and a double difficulty of evaluation: Manufacturers have found it hard to measure the short-term sales effects of advertising and the short-term profitability (more commonly unprofitability) of promotions.

Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents are held to meet short-term cash commitments and not for investment or other purposes. The Company considers to be cash equivalents cash investments that are readily convertible into known amounts of cash and are subject to an insignificant risk of change in value. Cash investments consist of investments in investment funds linked to DI (interbank deposit rates), certificates of bank deposit and repurchase agreements, which are redeemable in less than 90 days after the investment is made.
Stock option plan
The Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of March 25, 2013 approved the Stock Purchase or Subscription Option Plan for Common Shares issued by XXX S.A. and, on June 15, 2013, a stock option plan (“Stock Options”) for the Company’s management was approved under the Stock Option Grant Agreement.
The directors, executive officers, managers, consultants and employees of the Company and other entities of XXX Group or persons who render services to the Company or entities of XXX Group are eligible for the plan.
The total number of shares intended for the Plan cannot exceed the limit of 5% of the total shares issued by the Company, without considering the authorized capital.

Sources of Uncertainty
This section describes the most significant sources of uncertainty in a Brinell hardness measurement and provides procedures and formulas for calculating the total uncertainty in the hardness value. In later sections, it will be shown how these sources of uncertainty contribute to the total measurement uncertainty for the three measurement circumstances described in X2.1.2.
The sources of uncertainty to be discussed are (1) the lack of repeatability of the hardness machine and measuring system, (2) the non-uniformity in hardness of the material under test, (3) the long-term lack of reproducibility of the hardness machine and measuring system, (4) the resolution of the hardness machine’s measurement system, and (5) the uncertainty in the certified value of reference test block standards. An estimation of the measurement bias and its inclusion into the expanded uncertainty will also be discussed.
Uncertainty Due to Lack of Repeatability (uRepeat) and When Combined With Non-Uniformity (uRep&NU)—The lack of repeatability is an indication of how well the Brinell hardness machine and indentation measuring system can continually produce the same hardness value each time a measurement is made. Imagine there is a material, which is perfectly uniform in hardness over its entire surface. Also imagine that hardness measurements are made repeatedly on this uniform material over a short period of time without varying the testing conditions (including the operator). Even though the actual hardness of every test location is exactly the same, it would be found that, due to random errors, each measurement value would differ from all other measurement values (assuming sufficient measurement resolution). Therefore, lack of repeatability prevents the hardness machine from being able to always measure the true hardness of the material, and hence contributes to the uncertainty in the measurement.
The contribution that the lack of repeatability of a hardness machine and indentation measurement system makes to the overall measurement uncertainty is determined differently depending on whether a single measurement value or an average of multiple measurements is to be reported. Additionally, in cases where the reported average measurement value is intended to be an estimate of the average hardness of the material tested, the uncertainty contributions due to the machine’s lack of repeatability and the non-uniformity in the hardness of the test material are difficult to separate and must be determined together. The uncertainty contributions for each of these circumstances may be estimated as follows.
