إن اكتشاف مرض السرطان لدى الأطفال يؤثر على مسيرتهم التعليمية نظرا لتغيبهم عن مدارسهم أثناء الجرعات العلاجية في المستشفى. يعتبر مستشفى الرنتيسي هو المستشفى الوحيد الذي يستقبل أطفال السرطان في قطاع غزة لتلقي العلاج الكيماوي, وحين يتغيب الطفل المريض عن مدرسته فإن ذلك يؤثر سلب ا على مواصلة مسيرته التعليمية وبالتالي فإنه يؤثر على نفسيته ونفسية أسرته لانقطاعه عن الدراسة لمدة طويلة.
إن غياب اهتمام وزارة التربية والتعليم بمثل هذه الفئة يدفع جمعية طلائع فلسطين لرعاية مرضى السرطان لتبني مبادرة صانعي الأمل لأطفال مرضى السرطان المقيمين في المستشفيات وذلك بالعمل على توفير بيئة تعليمية مساندة لهؤلاء الاطفال لما لها من أهمية عالية في رفع الروح المعنوية لديهم ولدى أهاليهم ولما لها من أثر إيجابي كبير في رفع نسبة الشفاء لهؤلاء الأطفال.
بدأنا بتنفيذ المبادرة منذ ثلاث سنوات ومستمرين حتى الآن, والقائمون عليها هم متطوعون لديهم حب الرغبة في عمل الخير وصنع الأمل منهم المعلمين ,المهرجين, الأطباء, الأخصائيين والداعمين لتقديم خدمة التعليم المساند للأطفال داخل المستشفى ومتابعتهم في بيوتهم أثناء تغيبهم ومتابعتهم في مدارسهم لضمان عدم انقطاعهم عنها. كما يحتاج المشروع لمهرج طبي لمساعدة المعلمين أثناء تنفيذ أنشطتهم ومساعدة الأطباء أثناء حصول الأطفال على جرعات العلاج. كما نقوم بتنفيذ ندوات توعية للأمهات حول أهمية متابعة المسيرة التعليمية للطفل وأيام ترفيهية للأطفال وأمهاتهم بعد انتهاء العام الدراسي.
طموحنا هو تجهيز غرفة دراسية وترفيهية كاملة ومناسبة للحالة الصحية للأطفال; مع توفير نظام تعليمي إلكتروني نظرا لعدم قدرة الطفل على الحركة من سريره إلى الغرفة الدراسية طوال الوقت.
النشاطات:
- تجهيز غرفة دراسية وترفيهية داخل مستشفى الرنتيسي.
- توفير معلم عدد2 ) رياض الأطفال + تعليم أساسي ).
- توفير مهرج طبي.
- تنفيذ أيام دراسية للأطفال المرضى.
- تنفيذ أيام ترفيهية للأطفال داخل المستشفى.
- تنفيذ أيام متابعة للأطفال داخل بيوتهم.
- تنفيذ أيام متابعة للأطفال داخل مدارسهم.
- تنفيذ أيام ترفيهية بعد انتهاء العام الدراسي.

Cancer affects children's education because they do not go to schools during the therapy in hospital. In turn, this would negatively affect the continuation of the educational process and therefore it affects the child’s psychology and his family. Al-Rantisi Hospital is the only hospital in Gaza that uses uses chemotherapy in the treatment.
The lack of interest in this category by the Ministry of Education pushes Palestine Vanguard organization to promote the adoption of the initiative that will provide a supportive educational environment for these children. In turn, this will be of a great importance to raise their morale and that of their families, in addition to the significant positive impact on the recovery rates.
We have started the initiative three years ago up till now, its run by volunteers (teachers, clowns, doctors and supporters)who are willing to make a difference in children's lives. Volunteers provide educational support in hospital and make follow up visits to children’s homes to ensure that they will not drop out school.
The project also needs a medical clown to help teachers when they perform their activities, and to help the doctors while they treat children. After the end of the school year, we usually conduct awareness-raising sessions for mothers on the importance of the educational process to the child, in addition to others fun days for children and their mothers.
Our goal is to equip a classroom that allows children to have fun while learning; this will make the process enjoyable and suitable due to children’s health conditions. We also provide them with distance learning system because of child’s inability to leave the hospital to the classroom all the time.
