I have worked as an interpreter and translator for
over 10 years. I learned English in Canada where I spent eight years as a
student. After completing my university education, I returned to Korea hoping
to find a career where I can use my English skills. I became interested in interpretation and
translation while working as a volunteer at a Christian worship concert in 2001
where I assisted several Christian musicians from the US with Korean-English
translation. I felt that it was quite fun and rewarding to help people speaking
different languages to communicate with each other. I applied to the Graduate
School of Interpretation and Translation at the Hankook University of Foreign
Studies later and got accepted to the school on the first try. Since I obtained my Master’s degree in Consecutive
Interpretation and Translation, I have accumulated for over 10 years various
experience and skills in verbal and written translation in such fields as
construction, IT, engineering and finance.
Furthermore, I enjoy working in a dynamic team
environment and meeting new people. I am good at working under pressure and
skilled at taking on a role of responsibility and leadership.
