I have an Honours Degree
(Licenciatura) in the translation and interpretation of languages, with my
native language being Spanish and my additional languages being English and
French.
I have four years of experience in translating and interpreting as a
freelance worker for Capita, undertaking frequent positions for the National
Health Service, High Court and the police. I have also undertaken a number of
specialised translation projects on a freelance basis for seven years, and as
such, I believe I am well qualified to work for you. My fields of expertise are:
Video Game localisation, as well as Website and Audiovisual translation.
I am very used to working with CAT tools such as Trados, Memsource and
Omega-T, and I have also undertaken a course in the use of Déjà Vu.
As a translator, I think what sets my work apart is that I pay attention
to not only translating from one language to another effectively, but also
making sure that the tone of a text is not lost. Moreover, another advantage I
have is that having lived in both the UK and Spain for several years, I excel
in the localisation of texts and find it easy to understand and apply cultural
