Source text - Russian Дополнительная услуга по добровольному повышению в классе обслуживания пассажиров класса Эконом или Комфорт до класса Бизнес (далее – услуга) предоставляется с целью привлечения дополнительных доходов за счет предоставления пассажирам на коммерческой основе дополнительной услуги повышенной комфортности перевозки пассажиров.
Фактом оказания услуги является факт перевозки с предоставлением пассажиру места в классе Бизнес на борту ВС.
Услуга предоставляется на собственных регулярных рейсах ПАО «Аэрофлот», а также на рейсах ПАО «Аэрофлот», выполняемых дочерними авиакомпаниями.
Услуга доступна пассажирам, имеющим оплаченный авиабилет с подтвержденным бронированием по прямым или сквозным тарифам в классах бронирования, относящихся к классу обслуживания Эконом или Комфорт.
Услуга не предоставляется:
пассажирам, имеющим авиабилеты с неподтвержденным бронированием;

At the check-in queue, the passenger will be given a boarding pass to Economy or Comfort class, in accordance with the purchased ticket. The boarding pass is replaced during aircraft boarding period, if free seats are available in Business class cabin at the end of check-in.
In case of a service class upgrade to Business, additional services issued for the Economy or Comfort class passenger cannot be guaranteed. The possibility of providing additional services is confirmed during the check-in period.

The passenger with an issued service won’t have access to enhanced comfort lounges.

Failure to carry the passenger due to the absence of a seat on the flight and the date specified in the ticket:

Denial of special baggage transportation to the passenger or impossibility of providing a passenger with additional services ordered and confirmed earlier, on condition the service requested meets the Carrier’s requirements: transportation of animals in the baggage compartment, carriage of sports equipment, carriage of arms and ammunition, except in cases when the passenger refuses to pay for such services.
Denial of visa to the passenger, as confirmed by the documents of an authorized consular (visa) service (embassy) of a country the stay inside which is envisaged by the concluded air carriage contract, provided that Aeroflot is notified about this no later than 24 hours before departure of the flight specified in the ticket based on the first coupon of a totally unused air ticket (this does not apply to carriages issued at group, charter and block-charter fares):
The document presented by an authorized consular (visa) service (embassy) must contain information that unambiguously confirms that the passenger was denied issuance of a visa of a particular state (which must specify the requisite details of the body that issued the document, passenger’s name and last name). - контейнеры/клетки с животными необходимо загружать таким образом, чтобы расстояние между клетками и иным багажом/грузом составляло не менее 15 см. для обеспечения достаточной циркуляции воздуха в отсеке ВС;
- нельзя размещать животных в непосредственной близости с криогенными жидкостями (RCL), ядовитыми газами (RPG), сухим льдом (ICE), радиоактивными материалами (RRY), продуктами питания (EAT), ядовитыми (RPB) и инфекционными (RIS) веществами, человеческими останками в гробах (HUM) и иными грузами.

The container’s bottom must be jointless, waterproof and covered with an absorbent non-toxic material. The container’s bottom has to be constructed in such a way as to exclude the crumbling and dispersal of the absorbent material.
The container’s roof must be jointless. Its upper side-frames must have ventilation holes/grids allowing the air to go in.
The container’s door must be firmly attached to the container, so that the animal won’t be able to break through. The size of the opening in the container door must not exceed 25x25 mm to prevent the animal’s paws, nose or tail from getting stuck in it.
The container must be securely lockable to exclude the possibility of its sudden opening, of the animal opening it, or of an unsanctioned access to the animal during the flight.
The inner surface of the container needs to be smooth and rounded to exclude the animal being injured during transportation.
The container needs to be equipped with handles, so that it can be lifted and moved by two loaders.
Loading and arranging containers/cages with animals/birds in baggage compartments must be carried out in accordance with LIR (Loading Instruction). When putting together LIR, it’s necessary to consider the following requirements:
- animals who are natural enemies (for example herbivores/carnivores) must not be placed next to each other;
- containers/cages with animals must be loaded in such a way, so that the gap between the cages with animals and other baggage/cargo is no less than 15 cm to allow proper air circulation in the aircraft compartment;
- it’s prohibited to place animals right next to cryogenic liquids (RCL), poisonous gases (RPG), dry ice (ICE), radioactive materials (RRY), edible products (EAT), poisonous (RPB) and infectious (RIS) substances, human remains inside coffins (HUM) and other cargo items.

Source text - Russian При наличии в PNR рейсов под кодом иных авиакомпаний или рейсов, где ПАО «Аэрофлот» выступает маркетинговым партнером, необходимо создание нового PNR с корректными данными пассажира. В случае отсутствия в свободной продаже мест для создания аналогичного PNR пассажир должен оплатить изменение тарифа/рейса/маршрута согласно правилам примененного тарифа.
Порядок работы распространяется на премиальные авиабилеты. Необходимо учитывать, что при изменении фамилии/имени/отчества пассажира в PNR автоматически удаляются любые ремарки SSR. Работник, осуществляющий такое изменение, в обязательном порядке должен внести ремарки снова.
При изменении фамилии/имени/отчества пассажира номер участника программы «Аэрофлот Бонус», внесенный в PNR, будет автоматически удален. В случае невозможности повторного внесения номера участника (несовпадение написания фамилии и первой буквы имени пассажира в программе и в поле имени PNR), во избежание конфликтных ситуаций в аэропорту работник обязан сообщить пассажиру о данном факте, поскольку некоторые услуги авиакомпании предоставляются только при наличии номера участника программы «Аэрофлот Бонус» в бронировании.
Изменение фамилии/имени/отчества в PNR и в авиабилетах разрешено с взиманием сервисного сбора в следующих случаях:
Искажение написания фамилии/имени/отчества пассажира, допущенное в процессе бронирования/оформления авиабилета на сайте ПАО «Аэрофлот», в том числе, если пассажир написал фамилию/имя/отчество латинскими буквами при включенной русской раскладке клавиатуры.
Необходимость корректировки написания фамилии/имени пассажира в соответствии с данными, указанными на карте участника программы «Аэрофлот Бонус» (только для перевозок по РФ).
Замена фамилии/имени/отчества пассажира в связи с вступлением в брак, переменой фамилии/имени/отчества, усыновлением и прочих случаях, если документ, удостоверяющий личность, получен до оформления авиабилета.
Изменение фамилии/имени/отчества в PNR и авиабилетах разрешено без взимания сервисного сбора в следующих случаях:
Внесение фамилии/имени/отчества в ошибочном порядке при оформлении авиабилета на сайте ПАО «Аэрофлот» (без дополнительных корректировок написания).
Изменение транскрипции/транслитерации написания фамилии/имени при замене паспорта (новый паспорт должен быть получен после оформления авиабилета). Переоформление обязательно для авиабилетов, приобретенных по направлениям в/из США, Китая, Индии, ОАЭ, Великобритании, стран Шенгенского соглашения.
Некорректное внесение префикса/титула MR/MRS, а также необходимость его удаления для переоформления авиабилетов на сайте ПАО «Аэрофлот».
Корректировка фамилии/имени/отчества в авиабилете, оформленном по групповому тарифу.
Изменение фамилии/имени/отчества в PNR и авиабилетах запрещено в следующих случаях:
Замена фамилии/имени/отчества с целью переоформления авиабилета на другого пассажира. В случае ошибочно указанных некорректных фамилии/имени/отчества пассажира (кардинальное отличие) при оформлении авиабилета переоформление не производится, даже если дата рождения и паспортные данные были указаны верно.
Замена транскрипции/транслитерация написания фамилии/имени/отчества без изменения смысла звучания при перелете по РФ (Y на I, J на G и ZH, U на YU и IU, KH на H, KS на X, V на W, F на PH, YA на IA и наоборот).
При изменении фамилии/имени/отчества работник проверяет достаточность предоставленных документов (старый паспорт, новый паспорт, свидетельство, подтверждающее перемену фамилии/имени/отчества и прочие документы), сверяет фамилию/имя/отчество и дату рождения пассажира в PNR и/или авиабилете на предмет совпадения с данными в предъявленном документе.
Вносит в PNR ремарку 5Н – CORR NAME IVANOVA/ANNA, а также при необходимости ремарку с основанием для изменения данных (например, 5H – MARRIED CERT №4154464). Вносит корректные данные в поле SSR DOCS, производит изменение фамилии/имени/отчества в PNR, переоформляет авиабилет, информирует пассажира по электронной почте о произведенных изменениях.
Если запрошенное пассажиром изменение требует оплаты сервисного сбора и до вылета остается более 24 часов, то работник информирует пассажира о том, что переоформление авиабилета возможно только в точках собственных продаж ПАО «Аэрофлот» или по месту приобретения для авиабилетов, оформленных через агентскую сеть.
Translation - English If PNR contains flights under codes of other airlines or flights where PJSC “Aeroflot” functions as a marketing partner, it’s necessary to create a new PNR with correct data about the passenger. If there are no seats available in free sale that would allow the creation of an analogous PNR, the passenger has to pay for the change of fare/flight/route in accordance with the rules of the applicable fare.
The procedure applies to award tickets. It’s necessary to keep in mind that whenever passenger’s first/middle/last name gets changed in PNR, any SSR remarks will be automatically deleted. It’s obligatory for the employee who makes such changes to enter the remarks again.
When changing passenger’s first/middle/last name, the ‘Aeroflot Bonus’ program membership number that’s entered in PNR will be automatically deleted. In case it’s not possible to re-enter the member’s number (mismatch between the way the last name and the first letter of the passenger’s name is spelled in the program and in the PNR’s name field), for the sake of avoiding conflict occurrences in the airport, the employee is obliged to inform the passenger about this, due to the fact that some of the airline’s services are provided only if the ‘Aeroflot Bonus’ program membership number is present in the booking.
Changing the first/middle/last name in PNR and in the tickets is permitted with service fee collection in the following cases:
The passenger’s first/middle/last name is misspelled when booking/issuing a ticket via Aeroflot website, including, if the passenger typed the first/middle/last name using Latin letters with the Russian keyboard layout on.
If it’s necessary to correct the spelling of passenger’s name/last name to make it correspond to the data specified in the ‘Aeroflot Bonus’ membership card (only for flights within the Russian Federation).
Replacement of the passenger’s first/middle/last name due to marriage, change of first/middle/last name, adoption and other cases, if the identity document was received before ticket issuance.
Changing the first/middle/last name in PNR and in the tickets is permitted without service fee collection in the following cases:
If the first/middle/last name was entered in the wrong order during ticket issuance via Aeroflot website (without additional spelling corrections).
Change in the transcription/transliteration of the first/last name whenever there's a change of passport (the new passport must be received after ticket issuance). Reissuance is mandatory for tickets purchased on flights to/from USA, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the Schengen countries.
Incorrect entry of the MR/MRS prefix/title, as well as if it’s necessary to delete it to reissue the tickets on Aeroflot website.
Correction of the first/middle/last name in the ticket issued at a group fare.
Changing the first/middle/last name in PNR and in the tickets is prohibited in the following cases:
Replacing the first/middle/last name with an aim of reissuing the ticket for another passenger. If, by mistake, the passenger’s first/middle/last name was indicated incorrectly (fundamental dissimilarity) during ticket issuance, no reissuance will be made, even if the date of birth and passport data were indicated correctly.
Replacing the transcription/transliteration of the first/middle/last name without changing the way it’s pronounced and heard during flights within the Russian Federation (Y to I, J to G and ZH, U to YU and IU, KH to H, KS to X, V to W, F to PH, YA to IA and vice versa).
When changing the first/middle/last name, the employee checks if all the necessary documents have been presented (the old and the new passport, certificate of first/middle/last name change, other documents), checks if the passenger’s first/middle/last name and date of birth indicated in PNR and/or ticket matches the data in the presented document.
Enters 5H remark in PNR – CORR NAME IVANOVA/ANNA and, if necessary, a remark with a reason for administering changes to the data (for instance, 5H – MARRIED CERT №4154464). Enters the correct data in the SSR DOCS field, changes the first/middle/last name in PNR, reissues the ticket, and informs the passenger via e-mail on the changes made.
In case the passenger who requested changes needs to pay the service fee, while there are more than 24 hours left before departure, the employee informs the passenger that the ticket can be reissued only at Aeroflot own sales points or at the place of purchase of tickets issued through the agency network.

After graduating from a private boarding school in Pennsylvania, I then went on to study the Great Books at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, completing my 4 years there with a dissertation on Aristotle's "Politics".
After returning to my native country, my post-graduate education continued at the Moscow-based Russian State University of Humanities (RSUH), where I defended my master's dissertation on David Hume's epistemology and moral philosophy.
While studying at RSUH, I also began working as a broadcast journalist on Russia Today (RT) - an international news channel providing English-speaking audiences with the latest news about what's happening in Russia and around the world. At RT, I wrote and edited texts on a range of topics, including international efforts on North Korea, Iran's nuclear program, Israel-Palestine relations, Russia's ties with the former Soviet republics, etc. I also provided translations of news conferences and interviews with Russian and foreign government officials, diplomats and public figures.
After my 10-year tenure with RT, I got a job as a translator at Aeroflot - Russia's largest airline and flag carrier. While working for the company, I translated documents of various scope and subject matter, which included: rules of passenger and baggage carriage; ticketing and refund regulations; guides to service class upgrades; miles accrual policies; regulations on the transportation of unaccompanied minors and animals on board aircraft; internal regulations on debt recovery and claim-related procedures (delays/absence of money transfers); passenger sales agency agreements; guidelines for travel sales managers on conducting sales outside Russia, etc.
I always try to make my translations as close to the original text as possible, while also keeping a close eye on making them easy to understand by a person who's reading them. This requires precision and detail on the one hand, as well as making sure they are conveyed in as simple and clear manner as possible.
