Bio

I have just graduated from my Master's degree in Literary & Social Sciences translation, and am eager to start a carreer as a freelance translator. French is my native language, but I pursued my educational path in Dutch and have always been exposed to the English language. The language combination I picked in university is German and Russian, which makes me able to translate texts from all four languages into my mothertongue. I lived in Moscow for six month during a student's exchange, and spend a lot of my free time in Germany, Austria and the United-Kingdom, to improve my language skills as assiduously as possible.

Literature and literary translating is my biggest passion. I love reading, and I am fascinated with the challenge of succeeding to reciprocate an author's genius into my own language. I have also always been fascinated by philosophy and economy, I am very politically involved and cherish ethical values such as human and animal rights, or the defense of the environment. I also advocate a better lifestyle for all, and am therefore very interested in health topics such as nutrition, sports and fitness.

I have already acquired some experience in the field by providing some volunteer translations, but also by working for different companies and art centres:

- I have worked on projects for the Centre Pompidou of Paris: I was asked to translate contemporary art samples, articles and flyers from Russian into French, about the work of Russian artists A. Monastyrsky and N. Panitkov, called "Collective Actions".

- I had the chance to be given an internship at the Foreign Rights Department of French publishing house "Editions Albin Michel" in Paris, during which I was asked to translate samples of their newest novels and lifestyle guides from French into English. These samples were used as prospecting material, to convince potentially new clients to enter into translations contracts with the house.
