Background:

I am a native English speaker (Irish-born and currently living in the UK) with an academic background in Linguistics and Italian Studies (MA in the former, BA in the latter). I have been studying translation since 2014 and have been offering my services professionally since the start of 2019.

Separate from my activities as a freelance translator, I also work part-time as an academic advisor and administrator at a study abroad programme aimed primarily at North American students (although I also perform ad hoc translation for Italian applicant documents).

My chief interests are in academic, higher education, and literary and/or media translation, but I also maintain keen professional and personal interests in video gaming, fashion and beauty, and travel and tourism.

My main hobby outside of translation is undoubtedly language learning. In addition to my existing Italian skills, I am learning Japanese (currently JLPT N4) and brushing up on my French and Dutch.
