C’était un homme qui portait un chapeau et faisait avancer avec un grand bâton de petites barques sur l’eau de Venise qui coulait entre les maisons. Sur une photographie, on voyait maman sur une barque avec ses grandes lunettes de soleil et son chapeau et un gondolier derrière elle. Elle avait l’air d’une grande star capricieuse. Mes soeurs assises de chaque côté d’elle avaient des regards émerveillés..."
Translation - Spanish "...Mamá sacó de su bolso una caja de fotografías y me mostró en una de ellas lo que era un gondolero. Era un hombre que llevaba un sombrero y empujaba con un gran palo pequeñas embarcaciones en el agua de Venecia que fluía entre las casas. En una fotografía, vimos a mamá en un bote con sus grandes lentes de sol y su sombrero y un gondolero detrás de ella. Parecía una gran estrella caprichosa. Source text - English I had been waiting to create a social media page to share my knowledge and ideas about food and well-being.
I was waiting for ‘the right moment’, until I was ‘ready’, until I was ‘perfect’. I felt that in order to have a worthy Instagram page, I would need to embody a glamorous, exceptionally fit, ‘ideal’ woman.
Well, I’ve had a couple of epiphanies recently.
1. Flawless does not exist in real life. No matter how beautiful and captivating an IG page is, it is not an accurate depiction of reality.
2. I do not have to fit into that unrealistic box, nor should I encourage others to fit into any box.
This Instagram is not about attaining perfection; it’s about building on what you already know and encouraging you to develop even further!

Había estado esperando el momento oportuno para crear un perfil donde pudiese compartir mis conocimientos e ideas sobre bienestar y alimentación.
Estaba esperando “el momento adecuado”, a estar “lista”, a ser “perfecta”. Sentí que así tenía que ser para tener un perfil “digno” en Instagram, tenía que encarnar como una mujer “ideal”, perfectamente en forma y glamorosa.
Sin embargo, he tenido recientemente un par de epifanías:
1.- La perfección no existe en la vida real, no importa cuan bella o cautivadora sea la cuenta en Instagram, nunca será una representación exacta de la realidad.
2.- No tengo por qué encajar en esta caja irreal, ni mucho menos alentar a otros a encajar en ellas.
Esta cuenta no es para alcanzar la perfección; es para animarte a basarte en lo que ya sabes e ir incluso más lejos.
Brindo por siempre ser maestro y estudiante.
