Source text - English In 2012, the modern use of electronic educational technology (also called e-learning) had grown at 14 times the rate of traditional learning. Open education is fast growing to become the dominant form of education, for many reasons such as its efficiency and results compared to traditional methods. Cost of education has been an issue throughout history, and a major political issue in most countries today. Online courses often can be more expensive than face-to-face classes. Out of 182 colleges surveyed in 2009 nearly half said tuition for online courses was higher than for campus-based ones. Many large university institutions are now starting to offer free or almost free full courses such as Harvard, MIT and Berkeley teaming up to form edX. Other universities offering open education are Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Edinburgh, U. Penn, U. Michigan, U. Virginia, U. Washington, and Caltech. It has been called the biggest change in the way we learn since the printing press. Despite favourable studies on effectiveness, many people may still desire to choose traditional campus education for social and cultural reasons.
The conventional merit-system degree is currently not as common in open education as it is in campus universities, although some open universities do already offer conventional degrees such as the Open University in the United Kingdom. Presently, many of the major open education sources offer their own form of certificate. Due to the popularity of open education, these new kind of academic certificates are gaining more respect and equal "academic value" to traditional degrees. Many open universities are working to have the ability to offer students standardized testing and traditional degrees and credentials.
A culture is beginning to form around distance learning for people who are looking to social connections enjoyed on traditional campuses. For example, students may create study groups, meetups, and movements such as Uncollege.

Source text - English In your own community you might have become aware of households with food insecurity. There are two forms of food insecurity; chronic and acute.
Chronic food insecurity is commonly described as the result of overwhelming poverty indicated by a lack of assets (means of living).
The acute food insecurity is usually considered to be more of a short-term phenomenon related either to manmade or unusual natural shocks, such as drought.
While the chronically food insecure population may experience food deficits relative to need in any given year, irrespective of the impact of shocks, the acutely food insecure require short term assistance to help them cope with unusual circumstances that impact temporarily on their lives and livelihoods.
Both chronic and acute problems of food insecurity are widespread and severe in Ethiopia. Drought and conflict are the main factors that increase problems of food production, distribution and access.
High rates of population growth and poverty also play a part, within an already difficult environment of fragile ecosystems where it might be difficult to produce sufficient food.
The fact that almost 80% of the population in Ethiopia depends almost exclusively on agriculture for its consumption and income needs means that measures to address the problems of poverty and food insecurity must mainly be found within the agricultural sector.

Translation - Arabic في مجتمعك الخاص، قد تكون على دراية بالأسر التي تعاني من انعدام الأمن الغذائي الذي له نوعان هما مزمن و حاد. وعادةً ما يوصف المزمن بأنه نتيجة للفقر المدقع الذي يظهر في نقص الممتلكات (وسائل المعيشة). أما الحاد فيعتبر أكثر كظاهرة قصيرة الأمد مرتبطة بالاضطرابات الطبيعية غير العادية كالجفاف أو الناتجة عن فعل البشر. ففي حالة انعدام الأمن الغذائي المزمن يعاني السكان من العجز الغذائي الناتج عن الحاجة في أي سنة معينة و بغض النظر عن تأثير الاضطرابات ، بينما يتطلب انعدام الأمن الغذائي الحاد مساعدة قصيرة الأمد لكي يتأقلم السكان مع الظروف الاستثنائية التي تؤثر على حيواتهم و سبل عيشهم. إن الصعوبات المزمنة والحادة لانعدام الأمن الغذائي خطيرة و منتشرة في إثيوبيا، حيث يشكل الجفاف والنزاعات عوامل رئيسية تزيد من مشاكل إنتاج الأغذية وتوزيعها والوصول إليها. كما أن لمعدلات النمو السكاني المرتفعة والفقر دور في بيئة هي قاسية في الأصل ضمن أنظمة بيئية هشة حيث قد يكون من الصعب إنتاج غذاء كافي. وفي واقع الحال، يعتمد حوالي 80% من السكان في إثيوبيا على الزراعة بشكل حصري تقريباً في الاستهلاك و الدخل مما يعني أن التدابير الرامية إلى معالجة مشاكل الفقر و انعدام الأمن الغذائي يجب أن تكون أساساً في القطاع الزراعي ، حيث تؤدي كوارث طبيعية أخرى كتفشي الأوبئة إلى تدمير مستويات الإنتاج المحلي و غالباً ما تكون أسراب الجراد خطراً موجوداً.
