Outstanding ideas often arise in the dark. Especially when the mood becomes enticing ... It was such a night that Veronica was on the way. In this female environment, she came to mind: producing timeless accessories. But not these noble clutches. They are rather ballast. After all, who wants to forgo a glass of wine in this enchanting atmosphere?
"Je m'en fous" is the decadent collection campaign of the designer from Ticino. And this is more than just a body movement. Veronica Gautschi stands for freedom of thought. "Women are under tremendous pressure and constantly wondering how they look like, rather than loving and finding themselves," she says.
Her designs consist of clear structures and fine details, combining aesthetics and functionality. A kind of statement for the woman of today. The highlight? The detachable band in the middle can be worn as a bracelet. Smart.
The influences of the design are of international nature. She has traveled around the globe, her wanderlust has led her especially to the metropolises of this world. In Tokyo, Singapore and New York, she was inspired by architecture and art. The current campaign with the French accent has also brought together the work of other women, including the sought-after photographer Julie Zocchi.
So since Summer 2018 Switzerland has a new talent. And she is not only talented. Veronica Gautschi is committed to slow design and fair processes. The bags are produced in the heart of Florence, with fine nappa and safiano leather. The format comes in two different sizes, each in black, red and white. The special edition for Christmas was produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces. In the meantime, Veronica Gautschi bags are already to be found in Geneva and Milan in a fine network of boutiques and their online shop.

Source text - English The external acoustic meatus
The external acoustic meatus is a sigmoid shaped tube extending from the deep part of the concha to the tympanic membrane (Figure 35.3). The walls are made up of cartilage from the auricle, as well as bony support coming from the temporal bone. This aspect of the external ear derives its sensory innervation from branches of the mandibular and the vagus nerves. The external acoustic meatus does not have a straight path; it travels in an S-shaped curve. The external acoustic meatus terminates at the tympanic membrane. The tympanic membrane is a double layered structure, covered with skin on the external surface and a mucous membrane internally. At the centre of the membrane is connective tissue connected to the surrounding temporal bone by a fibrocartilaginous ring.
The tympanic membrane is translucent and, as a result of this, structures located within the middle ear can be seen. On the inner surface of the membrane, the handle of malleus attaches to the tympanic membrane at a point that is called the ‘umbro of tympanic membrane’. The handle of malleus continues superiorly and at its highest point, a small projection can be seen, called the ‘lateral process of malleus’. The parts of the tympanic membrane moving away from the lateral process are called the ‘anterior and posterior malleolar folds’.

Il condotto uditivo esterno termina a livello della membrana del timpano. Al centro della membrana si trova del tessuto connettivo, fissato al circostante osso temporale tramite un anello fibrocartilagineo.
La membrana timpanica è traslucida. Questo permette di vedere le strutture site all'interno dell'orecchio medio. Sulla superficie interna della membrana, il manico del martello tocca la membrana del timpano. Il punto di contatto si chiama “ombelico della membrana timpanica”. Il manico del martello procede verso l'alto; al suo apice si trova una piccola protuberanza, chiamata “processo laterale del martello”. Le porzioni della membrana timpanica che si estendono dal processo laterale sono chiamate “piega malleolare anteriore” e “piega malleolare posteriore”.

Source text - English Once upon a time, in a land of forests and lakes and mountains, there lived an old king who had three sons. Fortebraccio was strong and valiant, and had fought and won many a battle. Linguadoro was charming and clever, and knew how to use his words to have people do as he wished. Giustino was the youngest of the three; he wasn’t especially strong, or cunning, but he was adventurous, and, like his father, he had a heart of gold.
One day, the king felt the time had come for him to choose an heir, for he was now old and frail, and had no strength left in him to fight his enemies, or look after his trades, or rule his people. He loved his three sons equally, and couldn’t bring himself to choose one of them, for fear to break the hearts of the other two. He thought and thought, in search of a solution, and finally, one bright morning, he woke up to find a brilliant idea had blossomed in his mind during the night. He summoned his sons to the castle’s great hall, and said,
“My dear children”, for, no matter how old, and big, and strong they had become, to him they would always be his children. “I have decided to leave my land, and my riches, and my castle to the one among you who will bring me what I ask for.”
The three brothers looked at one another, puzzled. Then, Fortebraccio said,
“Father, this is unfair. I am the oldest of your sons, and the strongest, and by right I should be your heir. I have won countless battles in your name, and with me your land and your people will always be safe.”
“What you say is true, my son.” The father replied. “Still, you are ruthless, and impulsive, and a good ruler should be cunning, and wise, and patient. He should be a good leader in peace as much as in war.”
Hearing these words, Linguadoro stepped forward.
“Father” he said “I must be your heir, then, for I am cunning, and wise, and patient, and I know your trades and your people, and surely they shall prosper under my rule.”
“What you say is true, my son.” Replied the father. “Still, you are also prodigal, and weak in battle, and I fear you would spend my gold on futile whims.”
The two brothers remained silent. Their faces were red with rage and shame, but they did not dare to question their father’s judgment.
“And you” The king asked Giustino. “Don’t you have anything to say?”
Fortebraccio and Linguadoro burst in laughter at the idea of their little brother having claims to the inheritance, but their father frowned at them, and they stopped laughing, for, old and frail as he was, the lord was a great and fierce ruler, and everybody feared his rage.
“Father” Giustino replied “I am but a young, little, scrawny boy. I am not as strong as Fortebraccio or as cunning as Linguadoro. I know nothing of war, or trade, or ruling. But I am willing to learn, and you know I have a good heart.”
The father smiled at him, because knowing one’s weaknesses and strengths is a rare and precious virtue, and it takes a good amount of courage to admit them in front of others. He said,
“Very well, then. To you I shall present three challenges. To the one who wins the first, I shall leave my land, knowing that he will protect it from perils. To the one who wins the second, I shall leave my riches, knowing that he will use it wisely. To the one who wins the third, I shall leave my castle and my crown, knowing that he will be a loved and respected king such as I have been. The first ordeal is this: you shall bring me the most powerful weapon you can find. I will expect you back here one month from now.”
Translation - Italian Molto tempo fa, in una terra di boschi, laghi e montagne, viveva un Re che aveva tre figli. Fortebraccio era forte e impavido, e aveva vinto molte battaglie. Linguadargento era affascinante e intelligente, e sapeva come usare le parole per convincere le persone a fare quel che voleva. Giustino, che era il più giovane, non era né particolarmente forte, né particolarmente intelligente, ma era il più avventuroso dei tre, e, come suo padre il Re, aveva un cuore d’oro.
Un giorno, il Re sentì che era giunto il momento di scegliere un erede, perché sapeva di essere ormai vecchio e fragile, e di non avere più la forza per combattere i nemici del regno, o seguire i commerci, o governare come aveva sempre fatto. Il Re amava i suoi tre figli in egual misura, e non riusciva a decidersi a sceglierne uno, perché aveva paura che gli altri due ne avrebbero sofferto. Giorno dopo giorno, il Re osservava i suoi ragazzi, cercando un segno che gli indicasse quale dei tre fosse il più adatto a prendere il suo posto; ma un giorno Fortebraccio vinceva un torneo di lancia, il giorno dopo Linguadargento azzeccava una vendita di cento navi, e il giorno dopo ancora Giustino portava doni per tutti dalle sue avventure nei boschi. Così, il tempo passava, i tre ragazzi crescevano, e il Re diventava sempre più stanco e preoccupato. Finché, un glorioso mattino di sole, il Re si svegliò con un’idea sfavillante in testa, che avrebbe risolto tutti i suoi problemi. Dimentico dei suoi acciacchi, cominciò a saltellare per la camera reale, chiamando a gran voce il ciambellano per annunciargli il da farsi.
Non appena seppero di essere chiamati dal padre, i tre ragazzi corsero alla grande sala del trono, ansiosi di sentire cosa fosse successo. Il Re, dal suo seggio dorato, disse:
- Miei cari bambini – Perché non importava quanto grandi, forti e intelligenti i suoi figli fossero diventati: per lui sarebbero sempre stati i suoi bambini. – Ho deciso di lasciare le mie terre, le mie ricchezze, e il mio castello a colui che tra di voi mi porterà quel che chiederò. –
I tre fratelli si scambiarono sguardi confusi. Poi, Fortebraccio disse:
- Padre, perdonatemi, ma ciò è ingiusto. Io sono il primogenito, e il più forte, e il più coraggioso. Ho combattuto e vinto tante battaglie, e di diritto sono il tuo erede. Con me, la tua gente sarà sempre al sicuro dai nemici della nostra terra. –
Il Re sospirò, poi disse:
- Quel che dici è vero, figlio mio. Ma sei anche impulsivo, facile all’ira, e ami troppo le battaglie. Un buon Re deve essere intelligente, saggio, e paziente, e cercare di risolvere i problemi con le parole prima che con la forza. –
Sentendo queste parole, Linguadargento si fece avanti.
- Padre. – Disse. – Allora io devo essere il tuo erede, perché sono intelligente, saggio, e paziente, e conosco i tuoi commerci e la tua gente, e sicuramente prospereranno sotto la mia guida. –
- Quel che dici è vero, figlio mio. – Disse il Re. – Ma sei anche prodigo, e debole in battaglia, e manipolatore. E un buon Re deve pensare al bene dei suoi sudditi prima che al proprio, e saper sacrificarsi per il bene del regno, e non spendere l’oro per futili capricci. -
I due fratelli tornarono al proprio posto in silenzio. I loro volti erano rossi di rabbia e vergogna per essere stati castigati pubblicamente dal padre, ma non osarono sfidare il giudizio del Re.
- E tu. – Il Re chiese a Giustino. – Non hai niente da dire? –
Fortebraccio e Linguadargento scoppiarono a ridere all’idea che il loro fratellino potesse desiderare il trono, ma il Re lanciò loro uno sguardo ammonitore, e le risate cessarono subito perché, per vecchio e fragile che fosse, il Re era un grande e feroce condottiero, e tutti temevano le sue ire.
- Padre, – Rispose Giustino. – sono solo un ragazzo giovane, tutto pelle e ossa, e senza esperienza. Non sono forte come Fortebraccio, né intelligente come Linguadargento. Non so niente di guerra, commercio, o buon governo. Ma sono pronto a imparare, e sai bene che il mio cuore è puro. –
Il Re sorrise, perché conoscere le proprie debolezze è una virtù rara e preziosa, e ci vuole molta intelligenza per scoprirle e molto coraggio per ammetterle davanti agli altri.
- Molto bene, allora. – Disse il Re. – La mia decisione è questa: vi presenterò tre sfide. A chi tra di voi vincerà la prima lascerò le mie terre, perché avrà dimostrato di essere colui che meglio saprà difenderle. A chi tra di voi vincerà la seconda lascerò le mie ricchezze, perché avrà dimostrato di essere colui che saprà amministrarle con più saggezza. A chi tra di voi vincerà la terza lascerò il mio castello e la mia corona, perché egli avrà dimostrato di poter essere un sovrano rispettato e amato, come lo sono stato io per lunghi anni. La prima prova è questa: mi porterete l’arma più temibile che saprete trovare, tale da rendere invincibile chiunque la brandisca. Attenderò il vostro ritorno a un mese da adesso. –

I am a native Italian professional translator and copywriter with a passion
for everything related to the written word, be it fiction, essays, advertising,
puns, technical text, or whatever comes my way. I enjoy especially the playful

designer, Veronica Gautschi (you can find her amazing creations here). I also teach literature and creative writing on a regular basis, in the hope to soon be able to unleash a host of like-minded minions to take over the world.
In my spare time, I thoroughly enjoy kicking ass during martial arts
classes (I have on my shoulders 7 years of kung fu and 2 of taekwondo), but
also, of course, reading and writing fiction. I have a special fondness for
glam rock music and the eighties, and, whenever I can, I wear my true rags and
become a pirate.
