I completed a BA in Multilingual Communication at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in 2007 and later added a distance-learning Master in Translation from the University of Córdoba (I studied Spanish, but don't offer it now for lack of practical experience).
I specialise in 'all things marketing', with a strong focus on IT marketing. This is backed by specialised CPD courses, namely three two-day seminars on producing idiomatic translations and a three-day seminar on journalistic translations. I am also currently taking several courses on marketing strategy, etc. at coursera.org to better understand the settings in which the texts I translate are created.
Apart from marketing, I work a lot in software/website localisation, having a localisation course from the Imperial College London under my belt. Generally, I'm happy to consider texts from all subject areas as long as they are aimed at the public (and thus need to read well) rather than subject matter experts.
My ‘daytime job’ is in project management, so naturally I’m well-organised and strictly adhere to deadlines.
I am available in the evenings and on weekends and can translate up to 1000 words per day.
