Etiología
La mayoría de los pacientes diagnosticados de un neurinoma del acústico no tienen aparentes factores de riesgo. La exposición a altas dosis de radiación ionizantes es el único factor de riesgo definido asociado con un aumento en la probabilidad de desarrollar un neurinoma.
Por otro lado existe una enfermedad hereditaria denominada Neurofibromatosis tipo II, que se asocia con frecuencia al desarrollo de neurinomas del acústico, generalmente de manera bilateral, al igual que a otros tumores cerebrales y medulares.

Aetiology
Most patients diagnosed with acoustic neuroma have no apparent risk factors. Exposure to high doses of ionizing radiation is the only known risk factor associated with an increased risk of developing an acoustic neuroma.
On the other hand, a hereditary disease does exist known as Neurofibromatosis type 2, which is frequently associated with the development of acoustic neuroma, generally bilaterally, as well as with spinal and brain tumours.

Affaire SNC-Lavalin : le comité de l’éthique des Communes n’entendra pas Mario Dion
Sans surprise, la majorité libérale au comité de l’éthique de la Chambre des communes, qui y détient six des dix sièges, a rejeté une proposition visant à faire témoigner le commissaire à l’éthique Mario Dion devant ce même comité.
Ils ont dû se prononcer sur la question après que les représentants conservateurs et néo-démocrates du Comité permanent de l'accès à l'information, de la protection des renseignements personnels et de l'éthique des Communes eurent convoqué de concert une rencontre d’urgence sur la question mercredi.
