Fascination: languages
Since my childhood, language is something wonderfully fascinating to me. With it, we understand and interpret our environment. It aids us to express emotions and to explain concepts. It helps cultures, countries and people to get closer together or grow further apart, if one does not understand the language of the other. What could be more interesting than building bridges between people as a linguist?

Languages and me
Starting during my time at school, my interest was focused on languages. Particularly English, French and Spanish caught my eyes back then. In hindsight, it seems to be hardly surprising that I have left my home country Germany at an early age and, after getting a somewhat longish taste of life abroad as an exchange student in the US, based my life in various European countries.

During my time in Spain, and nowadays in France, I did not just live the respective language on a daily basis. I also got to know the country, its people as well as their culture and was able to obtain a deep routed understanding of those cultural environments.

Professional and linguistic career
After I did my Abitur (including an honorific mention in English), a successfully completed apprenticeship in Germany as a qualified bank clerk and an intermediate diploma in business studies, I decided to seek my fortune abroad.

For 15 years I worked in the tourism, real estate and construction industries, always with a focus on international customers and continual usage on a daily basis of my different languages. During this time, and without realizing it myself, I was actually already working, at least partially, as a translator. It was a regular feature of my daily duties to lead negotiations in different languages and to translate written documents from one language to another. This allows me today to rely on a broad treasure of linguistic experiences in the fields of tourism, real estate, marketing, sales and construction which tremendously benefit my translations.

Translator - my dream profession
In 2013 I finally made my dream, to take my fascination for language and turn it into a profession, come true. In that very same year, I started a distance study course to qualify as a "State certified translator German-English" and launched my freelance translation business sometime later.
Each and every document that I get to translate fascinates me just as much as the very first one I ever translated.
I am really looking forward to be able to translate your documents too.
