Bio
I am Anna Szőcs, freelance translator, dedicated nature and animal lover, passionate equestrian, trail runner and enthusiastic beginner cellist. I believe that the peculiarity of the translator profession is that it requires considerable background knowledge, which one can acquire through continuous, persistent learning. I truly appreciate this quality – I strive to be thorough and precise in my work.In addition to holding out the possibility of gaining intriguing and diverse knowledge, this profession presents complex linguistic challenges; therefore, it compels one to be ingenious, to master different speech styles (and therefore mindsets!) and to advert to different cultural contexts. Consequently, besides being a linguistic and intellectual act, translation is also a cultural phenomenon; it is the medium of intercultural communication and hence provokes receptivity, equality and diversity.I am looking forward to taking on new challenges!
