Bio
Hi!

I'm a multilingual translator with over twelve years of experience in a variety of fields. My primary working pairs are Spanish, French, and Portuguese into English. Based in Florida, I also frequently travel between Argentina and Brazil. I have spent more than eight years living in Spanish-speaking countries (mainly Argentina, Spain, and Ecuador), one year in France, several months in Quebec, and over one year in Brazil.

I have translated over a million words each in Spanish and French, and over a half million in Portuguese. In recent years my work has primarily been in the fields of law, finance, medicine, contracts, the arts, and culture. I am familiar with legal and banking terminology for various Latin American countries in the case of Spanish, and with mainland French, European Union, and African terminology for French.

In addition to this, I am head translator and assistant editor at the OOMPH! literary journal, where I have contributed translations and editing to the blog, several printed magazines, and a full-length anthology of bilingual literature published in 2016. In connection to this journal I have also helped organize and create multilingual materials for several events focusing on international literary culture. I am currently working on a translation of Argentinian poet Juan Salzano's book-length poetry manuscript "Ameba Maga." I also provided translation from Spanish and editing for a doctoral thesis on the relationship between oil-drilling and indigenous populations of Ecuador for Dayuma Alban at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and did research and translations from French and Italian for an upcoming book by Dr. Leila Zenderland, currently chair of the History Department at Cal State - Fullerton.

My bachelor's degree is in Creative Writing and French where I focused on post-colonial literature and completed several graduate-level courses in French language and literature. I also have an associate's degree in Communications and Media Arts, and a one-year university certificate in Programming for the Internet.

I have a broad skillset that allows me to translate in a wide number of fields. For nearly ten years I have been a filmmaker, working on documentaries, television shows, advertising content, and corporate video, both pre- and post-production. Often these projects are of an international scope. I am also a programmer and web developer, familiar with Wordpress, php, css, html, and front-end and blockchain applications. Finally, I am an actor. I studied improvisation for over two years at the People's Improv Theater in New York City and have appeared in seven feature films and a number of commercials, doing both on-camera and voice over acting.

I look forward to hearing from you!
