Source text - English One model of consumer decision making involves several steps. The first one is problem recognition—you realize that something is not as it should be. Perhaps, for example, your car is getting more difficult to start and is not accelerating well. The second step is information search—what are some alternative ways of solving the problem? You might buy a new car, buy a used car, take your car in for repair, ride the bus, ride a taxi, or ride a skateboard to work. The third step involves evaluation of alternatives. A skateboard is inexpensive, but may be ill-suited for long distances and for rainy days. Finally, we have the purchase stage, and sometimes a post-purchase stage (e.g., you return a product to the store because you did not find it satisfactory). In reality, people may go back and forth between the stages.
Translation - Indonesian Ada beberapa langkah yang perlu diketahui tentang bagaimana seorang konsumen bisa mengambil keputusan (untuk melakukan pembelian). Yang pertama adalah ia akan menyadari bahwa ada masalah; misalnya mobil yang susah distarter atau akselerasinya seperti kurang tenaga. Langkah yang ke dua adalah, ia akan mencoba mencari informasi -- bagaimana sih cara mengatasi masalah ini? Berikut beberapa kemungkinannya: membeli mobil baru, membeli mobil bekas, atau membawa mobilnya ke bengkel. Langkah yang ketiga adalah melakukan evaluasi atas beberapa kemungkinan tadi. Meskipun murah, tidak mungkin membeli skateboard untuk mengatasi masalah tadi karena benda ini tidak didesain untuk jarak jauh seperti mobil dan pasti ia kehujanan ketika hujan turun. Indonesian to English: Bagaimana Komputer Mengenali Aksara
Source text - Indonesian Secara singkat, proses tentang bagaimana komputer bisa mengenali aksara disebut encoding. Hal ini sepertinya cukup sederhana, tapi sebenarnya bisa jadi membutuhkan perhatian yang cukup serius. Menyepelekan hal ini bisa saja karena selama ini kita terekspos pada bahasa-bahasa yang menggunakan aksara yang sama dengan bahasa Inggris atau Indonesia. Bayangkan jika tiba-tiba Anda harus menggunakan komputer untuk membaca aksara korea, Jepang, Cina, atau bahasa yang memiliki aksara sendiri. Bahasa Korea misalnya, tidak mengandeng huruf-per-huruf, namun per silabel. Satu silabel terdiri dari 4 slot, dua di atas dan dua di bawah, dimana slot-slot ini bisa diisi maksimal 4 huruf dan minimal 2 huruf. Belum lagi ada aturan huruf-huruf apa saja yang bisa menempati slot tersebut. Ini satu contoh sederhana untuk menunjukan bahwa encoding tidak sesederhana yang kita pikirkan.
Translation - English Encoding can be briefly defined as how computer can recognize 'character'. It seems simple but might call a serious attention. Oversimplification of this phenomenon may root from our exposure to languages using exactly the same characters as English or Indonesian. Imagine when you have to read Korean, Japanese, or Chinese characters in your computer, where the forms are totally distinct to English and Indonesian. Korean, for instance does not simply concatenate characters, but the characters are arranged per syllable. One syllable might be written consists of 4 slots max, and 2 slots min. Each of this slot will be filled with Korean character. Consider also the grammar of what character that can fill which slot. This makes you think twice to oversimplify encoding.

My name is Dyka Santi, i am a full time translator of English <> Indonesian language pair , since 2015. Since 2009, i was registered as Indonesian government translator and interpreter. My last post was in Badan Kepegawaian Negara Indonesia (State Personnel Agency of Indonesia) under the authority of Sekertariat Negara Indonesia (State Secretary of Indonesia).
I have handled numerous translation projects, which are mostly legal and official documents. I mostly use Wordfast and Trados to assist my translation. As for academic translation, my master thesis focuses on the translation quality of ASEAN Charter which are translated into Indonesian.
The office also use my expertise as an interpreter to assist official foreign guests during official trips, conferences and trainings. I experience at providing interpretation service language pair, not only to Native English speaker (e.g Australian) but also to non-native speaker of English such as official foreign guests from Korea, Bangladesh and Thailand.
