n this letter, I would like to describe how my experience, qualifications and competencies match the position I am applying for, and to then let you know why I would contribute to The Kosovo Private Enterprise Program (KPEP) position of Business Support Specialist.
As you will see in my CV during my time working for KTA Division of POEs (Publicly Owned Enterprises) I have worked as a corporate governance officer, I did a lots of "corporate work" i.e.: incorporation of POEs transforming them into JSCs; drafting and reviewing by-laws, articles of association, and shareholders' and board resolutions of any kind - including amendments of by-laws, codes of corporate governance directors resolutions etc; I have participated as secretary to shareholders' and board meetings; giving advice on any matter concerning the internal organization of the company and the interplay of its various bodies, advising to Board of Directors of their fiduciary duties roles and responsibilities etc. I have extensive knowledge in drafting charters for the establishment of Audit and Finance Committee in POEs.
I am considered particularly well in negotiation, as advisor on management and strategic investments, in evaluation processes (during the incorporation of POE’s) on management restructuring & right sizing, monitoring the economical changes and applying the best practices. Furthermore, during my experience in Boardrooms, I have learned to converse persuasively before a demanding audience; I would add that my past and current colleagues also professors at my university and in general find my presentations clear and instructive during the classes and debates.
I must underline that I am quite familiar with laws and regulations deriving from various institutions such as World Bank Institute, ECGI, especially the OECD Principles and Guidelines, Codes of Best practices the rights and responsibilities of the shareholders, which is an integral and fundamental part of Corporate Governance. Further more during my time in KTA I was very much acquainted with business aspects of POE’s that have, in one way if I may say so, forced me to take a deeper inters in business and operations of the POE’s.
For the record I would like to mention that I have a certificate of Corporate Governance from PHOUL CONSULTING - Ensuring an Effective Legal and Regulatory Framework for State-Owned
Enterprises, The State Acting as an Owner, Equitable Treatment of Shareholders, Relations with Stakeholders, Transparency and Disclosure, and the Responsibilities of the Boards of State-Owned Enterprises- in addition to this wlhilist working in KTA I had and opportune chance to be working very closely with Mr. Andrea Lorenzo Capussela Ph.D L.L.M and Mr. Ilir Salihu, former KTA DMD POE’s.
I have successfully concluded my employment at KTA Division of POE’s, the KTA as you very well know is now transferred to KTA successor (Kosovo Privatization Agency - KPA - as an independent body) established by UNMIK Regulation No. 2002/12 (as amended) on the Establishment of the Kosovo Trust Agency, and provides that all assetsand liabilities of the Kosovo Trust Agency are transferred to the Privatization Agency of Kosovo.
Finally, a few words on why I am applying for this position. I am aware that I am young however I have extensive experience of 9 and a half years working in European Pillar IV with special emphasizes on Business Leadership, Management & Restructuring and Corporate Governance. Besides that I have a very constructive approach to the political and economical environment in Kosovo, I also have good references and general knowledge on management issues. During my employment to KTA, I have gained appropriate experience to manage and supervise day-to-day business management in many occasions, although that was not the mandate of KTA however it was in the best inters in order to persevere and enhance the values of POE’s.
I consider that I would give a great deal of my knowledge and experience to KPEP especially with my extensive knowledge in Corporate Governance and in general Economical issues (domestic and international), hence I was attracted by this position and my deepest aspirations are to continue my work in the area of Business related fields, because I would like to direct my efforts in enhancing my professional range of expertise and give my contribution to creating good values for KPEP and Kosova. This may sound very naive, but is deeply felt.
I want to continue doing what I think is right and what I know best and this opportunity has been now set forward by KPEP and given me an opportunity to apply, associated with my education in International. It is my personal opinion that I am the best fitted candidate for this position and I think it will further shape me up, professionally and morally to enhance and preserve the economy of Kosova especially the demanding attention that must be invested in private sector.
I must underline the fact that I’m currently working in Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo, however as stated above I would like again emphasize that KPEP would be a most convenient organization to broaden my range and give me various advantages that I have considered them for my future endeavors.
